Final Fantasy: Dissidia details - Image 1Square Enix rocked the world the other day as it confirmed PlayStation Portable (PSP) video game title Final Fantasy: Dissidia. Nothing is known about this game aside from the fact that it has an official website carrying the message, "Fantasy is endless. Fantasy has no limited form."

After getting the first details from Jump Magazine, we could say that the quote mentioned above does make sense. Accordingly, Dissidia will be bringing together characters from the past Final Fantasy titles. And when we say past, we don't just mean FF X or FF XI. We mean way back to Final Fantasy I.

For example, the Warrior of Light will be making an appearance and can be seen side by side with Final Fantasy IX's Zidane Tribal. Jump Magazine also revealed that FF IX villain Kuja will be making an appearance - how influential his character to the story is still unknown though.

We also learned that FF Dissidia is going to be a progressive action game although Square Enix is still not explaining how this goes. All it said was "there will be close-range combat on a 3D battle field that will involve a lot of jumping and special skills." We will give you more details as soon as we get them.

Not a FF franchise title, but still a Square-Enix game.

When I saw there was no number, I figured it would be some sort of crossover. So happy that Zidane and Kuja have been announced to be involved from the very beginning; I cannot wait for more information on this title within the week. Glad to see Square supporting the PSP; one reason I bought my PSP in the first place was for their potential titles, and now they come to fruition.

Wow I don't know what to say. PSP finally getting full attention of Square enix. I hope the game is unique and exclusive to PSP for handheld experience. I love playing older FF games via PSP's PS1 emulation. I can't wait to find out more.

close-range combat on a 3D battle field?

Woohoo! Kingdom hearts with more emphasis on FF dudes! That's very cool! Now, when they're gonna bring KH to PSP as well?

Dear god that's the best idea for a FF game. :)

When this sells a billion copies, can we get a big sequel on the PS3 too? ^.^

no

 » Mmm..

Sounds good but why Zidane? Why FFIX altogether? Just stick with the GOOD Final Fantasy's like 7, 12 etc.

I saw nothing wrong with 9, as it was my favorite. If it's not a favorite, it at least is a good game.

 » Sounds great!

If I heard this before downgrading my psp I wouldn't have done it. What if it bricked when both this game and crisis core is coming for the console?! I love squarenix!

Zidane´s secret special move is the headsmasher. It´s very effective against Pizza-roaches. The main enemy in final Fantasy
