Back in January, Square Enix's very own Tetsuya Nomura revealed that plans for a sequel to Dissidia: Final Fantasy were actually already in place, but eventually fell through the cracks. However, to spark a bit of hope, he also mentioned that if fans wanted it enough, Dissidia II might really happen in the future. Back then, I suggested we do a petition for it, now though, it looks like Square Enix will be listening to fans in terms of actual software sales. Of course, sales in Japan are already raking in some staggering numbers. And in an interview with Dissidia director Takeshi Arakawa, we learn that western sales will also be a big factor for any prospect of a sequel. Obviously the game hasn’t been released in either the US or Europe and we will have to wait and see how popular it will be. If it’s successful obviously we’d like to make an attempt to make a sequel. Of course, operative work here is "attempt." Attempting to make a sequel is one thing - let's just hope it doesn't fall through the cracks again, if ever they do push through with their plans of a second part. Well, whatever the case, sequel or none, there is one implied lesson here: don't pirate, buy the game! Related articles:

» i hope they don't cut characters
I'd like to see all the characters that are already in the game and then some.
If need be, save space by excluding audio and make the game entirely text. That'll save a ton of space. Maybe we'll be able to see all the main characters from every game in the next one and all the bosses that are main parts of the story.
If not all the characters, I'd like to see atleast Seifer,, FF1 Ninja, FF1 Red Wizard, FF1 Grand Master, Vincent, Edgar, Sabin, Mog, Cyan, and Shadow to have highest priority over all others.
However, we all could wish that Sony would develop a higher memory UMD type to include all the voice acting, characters, twice the music, atleast twice the stages, and more bonus content to make the FF fan cream in his(or her) pants plz ^_^.

» Pirates get burned by truth.
So all you d*bags who downloaded the game and demand they make another, throwing your name on petitions and making noise allover forums. Suck it, you want more, they want to see a reason to do it, and that means $. Whine and bemoan the lack of good new titles? It's all in the numbers people, piracy doesn't show up in their sales department, no sales = no interest. No sales = no investment. Learn.
