Given that free running (the sport, not the game) is a moving art, we thought the guys here would appreciate a gameplay trailer to prepare them for Reef Entertainment's Free Running title when it hits UK PSPs this March 16.

As a point of clarification, free running is a separate style from the similar practice of parkour, as free running uses more elements of tricking in its acrobatics - "Tony Hawk, but without skateboards." Lastly, it was parkour, not free running, that was featured in the Casino Royale movie (although free running creator Sebastien Foucan was in the film). Enjoy the trailer!

I completelly dig this one. It is a sport but not widely
known about. Would defenatly make a great game
and a must have if your into Ninjitsu.

Why Ninjitsu you ask? Because I find alot of the
skills in Parkour/Freerun derived from Martial arts
but not just any martial arts, Ninjitsu to be exact
and a little floor acrobatices as well.

If you are studying to become a Ninja, you would
agree due to having seen this in your practices.
If you haven't, your enrolled in the wrong school.

So Parkour/Freerun is really a collective sport of
Ninjitsu, Acrobatices and Endurance running.

Soon you will see this sport in the Olympics with
judging baised off of freestyle movies much like
skateboarders and snowboarders with signature
moves. Watch...

It will happen & you read it here first!

You clearly know nothing about NinjUtsu (not ninjitsu) because if you did you wouldn't even be making the connection to this. Acrobatics and Ninjutsu are nothing alike. If you wanna learn real Ninjutsu I suggest looking up info on Bujinkan, Jininkan, or Genbukan. Most don't even call the art ninjutsu anymore since its definition has become something it is not.

The only real similarity that Parkour shares with Ninjutsu is the rolling aspect. Even thats pushing it a bit.

Anyway let your fantasies of little ninjas dancing in your head entertain you. Just realize that most of whats widely "known" about the ninjas is false (some of which were spread by them to fool their enemies). Deception is a powerful ally.

» why did they mention parkour

if the game isn't about parkour, why did they mention parkour in the audio of the trailer?

Oh dear - I can see lots of fat kids trying this and ending up int the hospital. Well - pretty much any idot kid from the ages of 8 to about 18 will be trying to pull off these moves and end up breaking bones by slipping or falling off of buildings.... thats why this should have stayed in france - no one cares if they do it - watch for the lawsuits - hindsight s 20 - 20.Oh wait - is it hindsight if you say it beforehand.... does presight is 20-20 make any sense - oh wait - its called common sense.

I really don't care what idiots think about how this "isn't a sport" and all that crap. Most people never thought skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and many other activities would ever be accepted as sports, and yet they are today.

If there is any reason its not yet a sport, it's only because not enough people know about it or participate in it. Maybe you should give it a try before opening your mouth. If you succeed, you'll probably enjoy it. If you fail, I hope you break your neck so you won't ever have to bother anyone, anymore.

Looks awesome. I can't wait to play this.

» Worse than I though it ever could be

Well the makers of this game have excelled themselves into making an already terrible concept into an awful game.

Firstly, Freerunning was a term created by Channel 4 becuase they didnt think the English would like the term 'Parkour'.

Seb Foucan was friends with the creator of Parkour, David Belle but Seb has nothing to do with its creation.

Freerunning became separate from Parkour because of the idiots who insisted on tricking despite it being completely ineficient, you wouldn't trick when on an assault course, you would go as fast as possible, its the same principle with Parkour.

Also, this game is just going to create a generation of annoying kids who think Parkour/Freerunning is easy, its just Tony Hawks all over again.

Anyway, I'll finish by saying that I hate this game and everything it stands for.

 » whats with them speedlines?

They totaly ruin the realisticness of the game, i just hope they can be turned off because that will bug me so much whilst playing.

 » WTF?!

Please.. come on! Parkour ISNT sport! It's an art of move and philosophy! What a hell? Is it about Free Run? And why they're mixin' this two different styles? Firts of all - I AM a tracer, not a freerunner, so I can tell everyone - this game NOT about the parkour! Sh*t! Arcade again?
And why they makin' peolple believe that parkour and freerun is the same? Bull*hit!
