FreeRadio v1.8 - coding improvements, FreeRadio skin set to default - Image 1Homebrew developer FreePlay dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a new build for FreeRadio, bumping it up to version 1.8.

For those new to this, it is basically a server-free Internet radio portal for the Sony PSP. The last update prior to this was rolled out almost three months ago so the introduction of a new build is a most welcome one.

Here is the changelog for version 1.8 as provided by FreePlay:
  • Adopted 'iFreeRadio' skin as default
  • Improved code so pages should load/scroll slightly faster
  • Removed unused code that was taking up memory
FreeRadio v1.8 comes with its own Readme.txt file which should provide you with all the necessary information on installation and usage. Be sure to read that first before doing anything to maximize the potential of this homebrew.

can anyone give me a good comparison between this and PSPRadio?

In your opinion, which is the better internet radio player?

It works great for psp users with no hombrew/hack psp.

and PSPRadio is hard to config to me.

To put it simply, this works. PSP Radio does too but has a lot of problems. Plus it can't play AAC+ streams whereas this via the PSP's Internet Radio functions can.

Basically, this is easier and works with all streams. PSP Radio works sort of and only does MP3 streams. Thus this is better.

from the internet icon on the psp, instead of game mem card icon...i like that better...
