Fusa allows PSP owners to play games on TV over composite cable - Image 1There are obvious advantages to playing a game on a screen that's bigger than your Sony PSP's screen. Fortunately, homebrew developer OldPrisoneR's FuSa 1.0 Beta build 011 allows you to play Sony PSP games on your TV set over composite cable.

OldPrisoneR recently released a minor update to the custom firmware plugin. It basically adds the following features to the program:
  • Added "autoenable"
  • Added SpeeD BoosteR
  • Now you can enable/disable SPEED BOOSTER
  • Killzone: Liberation, SH: Origins now run perfectly
  • There was some noise in home screen - fixed
In a nutshell, the updated version of FuSa 1.0 Beta build 011includes bug fixes, enhanced game compatibility and the ability to toggle the Speed Booster feature on and off. For a more detailed directions on how to use FuSa Beta, as well as a list of which games the Speed Booster feature works with, kindly consult the readme file that comes with the package.

As with all PSP homebrew applications, please exercise caution when downloading and installing the files.

» will this work on the fat?

will this only work on the slim?

   Re: Sythun - 2008-05-01
 » only works on slim

This only works on slim because slim psps are the only ones that has the tv-out feature.

 » ahh..

One of the few truly useful homebrew. Just like the old days when only reputed devs released good stuff and not the plethora of "Hello World" mods that we see now.

Woooow. This is nothing short of amazing. Way to go, OldPrisoneR. This is unreal. Thank you.

» S-video cable owners out of luck?

I mean, I was prepared to shell out $20 for only ONE cable, and I figured it would be the component cable for games. But since I don't have an HDTV yet, should I get an inferior composite cable for this when s-video is a step up?

Since when was there an S-video cable for the PSP slim?

Oh, wait, there isn't one.

It might work, I just think no on has tried an S-Video cable yet.

 » Thanks!

Thanks very much OldprisoneR!! I've been waiting for something like this ever since I got my slim.

» Would be great if it worked

But it doesn't. The readme says to hold the volume +/- buttons together "for a while" and a menu will load. 30 seconds of holding, and nothing.

What the Hell, you're a programmer or whatever and you can't figure out how to make this plugin work?

Run your game, hold - / + for about 1 second. Done. I know, it's hard, but next time don't just say stuff "doesn't work" 'cause you can't get it to work. It works fine, it works JUST how the author explains, some games are slow, and certain games have speed hacks, don't expect anymore then that.

Personally, all I'm waiting for is full screen mode.

» I can confirm that this WORKS.

Thank you to the guys working on this project. Awesome.
I look forward to further updates. I agree with another poster that this is indeed what I bought my slim for.

Games I've Tried WORKING:

Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Bleach 4
Echochrome

Homebrew: Rhythm 7

All we need now is a little more speed and the correct aspect ratio for television and this thing will be fantastic.

Thanks for your efforts!

If it is at all slow ... doesn't that make it unplayable?
   by stiks - 2008-05-01
 » of course

right after my psp plays death by cappacino this would come out btw Gas Station cappaccino must be really strong because it ate one of the Resistors/capacitors/diode (whatever it was) right off the solder contacts by one of the main processing chips, im gonna cry ***waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh***

Does this actually work with any games? Because I don't wanna buy a composite cable only to find out that this doesn't even work.

I just tried it with Patapon. Works ok... Its not full screen, but its a great start.

» soo clarify for me please

so i can play games using the tv out feature on my composite tv....

by downloading this
and getting a composite cable (of course)..

   Re: akadewboy - 2008-05-01
 » Yup

Yes, but it' still a little glitchy, they are still working on it.

 » i'll have a look at this but it's fullscreen i'm after

nice one man i was waiting for someone to start the fullscreen tv out challenge. i will definetly test this out. this running fullscreen on any tv whether new or old. this is gonna be best prx available for the slim. hopefully this will become the workaround i've been waiting for since dax released his tv out code. keep up the good work as i'll be waiting for the next release with lcd prog fullscreen dont care about the component setup as my xbox 360 fills that up anyway so composite will be sweet for my 32 inch lcd as psp aint hd quality anyway i dont think

Not working on my slim 3.90 m33-3. tried the holding down the -/+ button nothing shows up.

 » Problem

I'm having problems getting this working too... I've pressed - & + for a while, and got nothing.

Does it only work with the games that the readme specifies? Little more insight might help with the complaints if it is true

   Re: NeroMaverick - 2008-05-01
 » Forgot

oh ya, sorry I forgot to mention, awesome prog! even if I haven't gotten it working yet :P

wanted this for AGES!!

   Re: TheLastGuitarHero - 2008-05-01
 » ...

Just load your game, and by "load" I don't mean "start." For example, if you're playing God of War, don't press - / + right away, load your saved file, and once the main screen of the actual game comes up, then press it.

   Re: NeroMaverick - 2008-05-02
 » I know

I read through the comments, I know what to do, it just isn't working. Thats why I'm asking if it only works for specific games. So far I've tried it with NesterJ, Snes9x, Cave Story, and GTA: LCS. It hasn't budged for any of them.

ok for the people that can't get it. start the game wait for the game to load the press the vol+ and - buttons at the same time
