I know it's pretty tough to hear of something and want it so bad yet have little to no means of getting - much less getting to use it to its full potential. But, for those that do live in Japan, Edia Co. Ltd. has announced that they'll be releasing the third version of their Maplus GPS software come July 9.

The new Maplus Navi 3 guidebook overhauls the map viewing system and introduces 3D rotateable maps. The "My Navi" feature has also gotten some additions, one of which is MP3 player functionality. Another one is the ability to add 3D characters on the map as well as an update of the celebrity voice-based navigation that was included with Navi 2.

Maplus Navi 3 will be available on July 9 for JP¥ 8,190 (US$ 82). The PSP GPS receiver unit is sold seperately.
