A few month's ago, QJ blogger Gino D, promised that we'd give you future updates regarding the supposed release date of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 4 Mobile for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Of course, why wouldn't he, given the game's Duke Nukem: Forever - esque history of changing release dates. As promised here's an update. QJ reader, Networkgamer alerts us of something interesting going on over at the EBGames site.

As of this writing the EBgames listing for Gran Turismo 4 Mobile looks like so:

EBGames listing - Image 1

Oh well, a move from from July to November ...sigh. We're betting that a few months from now, we'll get word of another schedule change. Of course, you can't discount the possibility that EBGames is just yanking on our chains ...or something. Since there isn't official word yet, we'll tag this as a rumor for now. As always, we'll keep you informed as soon as more info is made available. Stay tuned.

» I doubt Sony on this...

With the hype on the PS3 Sony is shifting all their attention to the PS3 because it makes the most money for them. By the time they realize that they should have been working on GT Mobile then it will be too late. Stupid Sony >_

i've just jumped boats, im gonna keep my psp, but xbox 360 is looking so much more promising then the "troublesum" ps3. Sony are run by idiots, they will pull an atari any time soo. just u watch!

how will sony (consoles, not consumer electronics) end up like atai? atari died because they refused to keep up with technology, sony is pushing technology to the breaking point right now. and to be honest, after halo 3 (which of course wil be great, reason i got my 360) i wont be expecting much more from 360.

Dam how long are they gonna keep stirring up these rumors. This has definitely turned into vaporware as they call it. I would be ecstatic if it was released but im reeeaaalllyy dont think it will. By the way i just saw the post on FFVII CC and it looks awesone. And another thing SOME (insert gamestore) employees are idiots.

see nintendo doesnt pull strings like this. They treat their handhelds and consoles as two different markets and actually the handheld unlike sony market is more important for them.

Isn't Nintendo just the greatest company ever? Gold stars for everyone! Once they get Wii's on store shelves instead of saturating the market with DS's I will once again sing the praises of the big N.

» GT Mobile to be released sonner??!!

I was at EB Games the other day, in-store, not online, and I asked them about Gran Turismo Mobile for PSP, and they checked the computer and said the release date is for April 2, 2007!!!

I do really hope that this is true, given the huge delays for PSP Gran Turismo.

You can bet that I'll be calling them on April 2nd.

Perhaps Sony and Polyphony Digital have kept extremely tight wraps on PSP Gran Turismo to server their customers a surprise??

 » hey

you can also consider these release dates as APRIL FOOLS JOKE. no game this popuplar can be kept so quietly to be able to be 100% at this short time without paparazzi's sniffing info about it. i also think they completely vaporized this game, a resurrection is pretty much welcome!

Sigh, I'd kill for this game. I love GT1,2,3 and 4, but I just never get to sit down and play them. I think if I had GT4M, I'd get around to it more often. I dunno. I just want this game. I hope photo mode is still in there. I love making wallpapers of my dodgy Galant, hah.

DEFINENTALY vaporware

Everyone was buying into the statements from Sony that PSP had just as much power as PS2, including Polyphony Digital.

I just think Polyphony made a decision too early to go on with GT4 mobile and when the truth about PSPs processing power surfaced it was too late to cancel and not look unprofessional. They probably have a very primative build going on PSP and it looks something like GT2 which means that It is not pretty looking so, I think that GT4 Moble might as well be vaporware.

why dont they just let them use 333 mghs, its not like the psp's battery reputation could get any worse due to nintendo fanboys so why not jsut allow 333 mghs to be used esp wth how cheap battery packls are these days off ebay.

Re: Yeah true that.. (Unregistered) - 2007-03-19
 » I myself have a huge .... battery

Got one off Ebay for $12 , and it lasts 22hrs with music and 15hrs with gameplay , eats Nintendo DS's ass for breakfast lunch n tea..
