GTA Liberty City

With Rockstar's GTA: Vice City Stories coming out in a few months, we thought we'd do a special on GTA Liberty City Stories. We'll show you guys stuff like cheats, maps, and other nostalgic what-nots that could help you guys get into a "GTA" mood. Admit it, the game might be a bit dated, but it's still quite popular.

Liberty City Stories is still one of the best experiences on the PSP, and the massive number of hacks and homebrew mods for the game is a testament to its fun factor.

Okay, so let's start with the characters first:

Good ol' ToniToni Cipriani
He's a recurring character. After all, you just can't keep a good man down can ya?

After he killed a made man for Don Leone, Toni left Liberty City for several years and has kept a reasonably low profile. Because he's been out for too long, other members of the Leone Mafia family have had the time to move up the food chain. Salvatore basically had no choice but to strip our good man Toni of his rank and hand the authority to someone else. Now, Toni's a low-ranking goon that has to once again work his way up.

The DonSalvatore Leone
This is a very familiar face from GTA. Yet again, you will be doing a lot of missions for him and will be introduced to him from early stages of the game.

Things at some point goes bad for the Don. For one thing the mayor seems to have it out for him. The Sicilian Mafia is in town, so that's a big headache. And to add icing to the big problem cake, the lesser gangs of the city are stepping up and are trying to win back the turf that the Leone now control.

Salvatore is a bit paranoid, and is never able to fully trust most people.

Love MediaDonald Love
Rich dude. Owns the Radio station. Bring the love to "Love Media." He's even run for mayor.

He's not all pimp and bling. He's a cannibal, probably a necrophiliac. He's famous for having said "just like chicken, but more... sentient, if you know what I mean" during a cutscene where a human torso is visible on the table with Love eating some ribs.

The PervJD O'Toole
Pervert and career criminal. An employee of the Sindaccos. He manages their girly club, "Paulie's Review Bar" in the red light district of the city. A position in which he's quite satisfied.

He's overweight, sweaty and nervous. Most people think his anxiety is due to the amount of time he spends around all that bare flesh at the club… and they're probably correct.

He spends his time imagining, lusting after, and craving every perverted scenario conceivable, but he's never actually carried one out for himself. Poor dude. In truth, he's never even touched one of his girls. Hey, at least he's a no touch kind of guy when it comes to his business.

JD already had his fingers and his toes in a lot of pies, and eventually somebody is going to notice.

AddictMaria
Significant other of Salvatore Leone. A meth addict, and is known to get herself into trouble with the wrong sort of people. She's made many passes at Toni but only probably because she's drugged at that time.

Just Plain DirtyLeon McAffrey
Dirty man. Dirty cop. He's on the Don's payroll and at times helps Toni deal with other gangs. All that matters to this servant of the law is getting paid. He's pretty indifferent about his actions causing the deaths of innocent cops. Actually, he's pretty indifferent about his actions causing the deaths of anyone.

Yaoi?Kazuki Kasen

Older brother of Kenji Kasen and currently head of the Yakuza in Liberty City. A very ambitious and driven man, Kazuki feels it is his duty to do well for his family in America and has recently begun forcing his way into many mafia controlled areas. This obviously makes him a target. Oh, the things you do for "honor."

This smooth operator is married to the noble and beautiful Toshiko Kasen, though only for political reasons.

Kazuki seems to prefer the company of his Yakuza men than spending time with Toshiko. Or any woman for that matter...

She's The ManJane Hopper
She's the corrupt union boss who will often 'contract' her unions out to the highest bidder. Extreme negotiations are her forte - If you need a strike, she can make it happen. If you want a strike settled, she can take care of it.

If you need your business up and running you better learn to grease her hands. As tough as most macho-men in Liberty City, rumor has it that Jane may actually be a man herself. Or used to be.

The Invisible ManPaulie Sindacco
Head of the Sindacco family, Paulie Sindacco is rarely seen. Known as 'The Invisible Don', and spends a great deal of time traveling to and from Las Venturas where many of the main Sindacco holdings are located.

It's his capos who run operations for him, and the better do exactly as he wants ot they end up well, you don't want to know. Those that don't fall in line with Paulie's views or that don't know their role and overstep their boundaries are given one way tickets to the bottom of the river.

With Paulie being out of Liberty City so much, he finds that this "do or die" approach keeps his men in good order.

Hustle man hustleVincenzo Cilli
His good looks, education and smooth demeanor quickly caught the eye of Don Salvatore, and he has risen through the ranks quickly in the last couple years. Now on the fast track to being Consigliere, in Toni's absence he has amassed a significant amount of power and influence in the family.

A ladies' man at heart, Vinnie seems only interested in himself.

Memories of a...Asuka Kasen
Asuka is the leader of the Yakuza in Liberty City. Better respect her or else you'll end up losing more than just your fingers. She's famous for having tortured several people who were notoriously 'bad ass'.

Mr. Tambourine ManMiguel

Miguel is a member of the Colombian Cartel and was captured and tortured by Asuka at the construction site in GTA3. You will be receiving several missions from this drug boss.

 » vice city will blow

i havent read much on it, but from all the screenshots it looks like you have to play a black guy in vice city (could be wrong). but if this is the case, i play video games simply to get away from real life situations.. i dont play them to mimic what blacks do in real life anyway.

 » Question?

Why didn't you tell about the GTA III guy A.K.A. Claude? He may not speak, but he's still an interesting character. There's at least enough information about him to write down a paragraph like you did with the other characters. Wait, this is only part of this revisiting thing so I guess you guys are going to cover GTA III guy. Lawl, GTA III guy is just my favorite character in GTA in case you were wondering why I have ran on about this.

@6

Still living in the Stone Age with an opinion and mindset like that, huh? Also, I like diversity in my video games. Doesn't one become tired of the "same 'ole, same 'ole" cliche?

On Topic:

Stuff like the above is posted more abundantly via a search of "Grand Theft Auto".

learn to spell and use correct grammar before you shout and crap. if ur not black, why are u talking with "ebonics?"
and i do dislike being a black person in GTA: SA. It promotes gangs, sex and drugs. Why cant we just be Tony again? I play this game to kill people and drive around not to have sex, make a gang and make drugdeals..

 » this game is fun

this game is fun but the city is dull, grey, and boring. The game and the characters are good though.

» Then why have you been playing the GTA series?

"and i do dislike being a black person in GTA: SA. It promotes gangs, sex and drugs". Ahem, "It promotes gangs, sex and drugs".

Really now? Can anyone say contradiction?

Just simply say that you're a racial profiler and that you are racist. Btw, I'm multiracial.
