GREAT...So its official, PSP is having a revolution...
Flash...cool
Camera...cool
Price....cool
I LOVE MY PSP
People have been saying that 3.0 Firmware will be released on March 24th (2 days).
I just realized that that is exactly 1 year since when the PSP was first released. Who started this rumour? Is it true?
We heard this news already anything new?
Nobody would know if it's true because the release date hasn't officially been announced yet, but I have a feeling that it's true. I wish SONY would've announced it today!
(I'm the Anonymous Coward that posted 2nd...just registered!)
I really cannot wait until 3.0 comes out...the main reason is because I really really really want to be able to listen to .pls streams on my PSP. I was stupid enough to upgrade to 2.6...so the closest thing to that is listening to RSS files streamed from my computer. :P
Flash seems really cool too...hmm...just a thought...do you think it would be possible to make flash games work with the PSP?
Whats an aggregator?
in the march2005 sony meeting the President or something like that said when the ps3 will release (Nov06 world ) and they said they gonna put GPS Camera and a flash macromedia but we know this we wanna know when ad anyway 1.50 is the best :P
Perhaps this is where the "3.0 Firmware will be released on March 24th" rumour began?

wow, what a dilemma!
homebrew...or better non-homebrew!
jesus! they finally figured out that the best way to get people to upgrade is to give them what they wanted in the first place
Sorry to say but i guess flash games will not be possible, unless Sony provides a flash "applet player". On the PC, you play flash games by either using your mouse or pressing some keys. But on the PSP, the simulated mouse controll is not suitable for games and the keys are all used for controlling the browser itself, they will not be usable by the flash script.
Having homebrew is nice but i will not sacrifice the accessibility of a game i want to play for that. Most of the homebrew is a little buggy and instable and/or gets dull real quick.
The price of the PSP was not lowered, technically speaking. It's just a new pack with less stuff.
Eh, to each his own, we all have different opinions but since people are stating theirs I may as well restate my own.
I originally purchased my PSP for gaming but decided that the homebrew programs are more interesting. When I am completely bored with homebrew I will update and purchase a GP32X system but for now there are still a few interesting games and applications for me to play around with.
As for the features that were announced, I will not lilely update for them until I am certain that they will not be duplicated through homebrew programs. And downloading games to the memory stick? I fail to understand how SONY will prevent piracy by allowing that. Wasn't this whole "war on homebrew" crap that SONY is engaged in mostly caused by piracy in the first place?
Another term for a application that will read and display newsfeeds.
if the new $199 psp had 2.61 sony wouldnt re-lease 3.0 till 2.61 has been out for download for a while so (hopefully) all of us would download it. right?
just to le tyou guys know the Newly Priced Basic PSP pack will be available at retailers on April 15th.
the psp base pack is already on sale here in Canada for $230 CAN...
its not out yet 2 april those ppl didnt know ont they are nooB when it comes to gatherin info
