Orange PSP - Image 1A lot of you Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew fans probably remember the GameMusicGear developed by coder silmarilion. It's been a while since the developer and the nifty music program were last heard of, but the wait should be worth it considering what was recently posted.

Making an appearance in the QJ.NET Forums, silmarilion revealed a lot of new features. They'll drop in about a month, but these notes had us pumped up and ready for it:

  • It will now be a plugin based app (like mp3 plugin, spc plugin, etc.)
  • Rar Support
  • Skin Support (with bitmap and ttf fonts) (maybe utf8 support)
  • In game config screen.
  • Controls configuration
  • Full screen visualizer
  • Output plugins to encode the playing song to other format! (like wav or mp3)
  • It uses the jge++ engine, so i had to rewrote some of the graphics code. But i guess it was worth it!
  • Also i have been working on support for other audio formats!
Here's hoping that silmarilion puts it all together on the new version of GameMusicGear soon. We'll tell you about it as soon as this ear-pleaser is done so keep it with us for more exciting developments in Sony PSP homebrew.
