Umihara Kawase fans may find homebrew developer MK2k's new 'brewed game, Gannatsu Portable, quite enjoyable. It's actually a well-made game modelled after Marvelous Interactive's side scroller, Umihara Kawase. It also has almost the same gameplay mechanics: in order to collect items, not only do you make your character jump between platforms, but you also use a grappling hook to access hard-to-reach areas.

For a homebrewed game, Gannatsu Portable has quite the selection of modes to choose from. Aside from a Stage Select mode, you can also opt to play through the Time Attack mode to test your skills. There's also a Tutorial mode where you can test the game's waters in case you're new to the game.
