Fixes for TA-082 units - Image 1

Codes02 has released the General IdStorage Repair and 1.50 ipl Enabler, a new application which will help you with your TA-082 PSPs. In fact, it should be able to repair the idstorage on TA-082 units PSP, provided you have the technical know-how to use this app properly.

Since even I don't even know everything there is to know about this app, and to avoid any confusion, here's some verbatim information straight from Codes02 on the new app. Just remember that newcomers to hacks and homebrew better wait for more info to come along before trying this and that we won't be responsible for any bricks you may incur, alright?

From Codes02:

This is a program I have created and generally modified for my own use as new developments in the idstorage on ta082 motherboards were revealed. With the recent revelations by SilverSpring, the fact that only the 0x5 key must be corrupt to boot the 1.50 ipl, and due to random confirmations of this by numerous other forum members, it now seems we have reached the end of the path of idstorage modification for the purpose of fixing ta082 mobo's.

This program is for kernels with module loading already patched and that support normal eboots (these usually are bundled one in the same).

SE and OE firmwares as well as HEN revisions should certainly function.

It features functions to repair the idstorage (except for key 5, with it modifies and restores so that it is seen as corrupt) from every idstorage fixer program i could think of. If you have done custom modifications to your idstorage and shuffled the keys yourself, don't use this. In fact, if it tells you you utilized a program you did not, i recommend you exit immediately and perhaps notify me in some way (don't scream) and i may decide to fix it.

In any case, if run from a non idStorage Fixed psp (such as one running 2.71 or 2.80) it will detect this and do a simple 0x5 key corruption in the same way done on the hardware downgraders. The second byte of 0x5 is changed to 0x68 from 0x6b.

I'm sorry but what's this? What does it do? My bro has a TA-082 PSP and It works the same as mine. What does this do?

 » .

There are minor glitches in downgraded ta-082 PSPs, to varying degrees. Worst case scenario, many games won't even work on it. Tony Hawk 8 being the most commonly reported one.
I'd be interested to see if this fixes those problems or not.

 » Used this already

Does nothing useful. It detected that I'd used the Noobz downgrader. It went ahead and patched whatever file/s and quit. The screen brightness bug is still there. Oh well thanks for trying some1. This is the most painful bug of T-082 Mobos.

   Re: TA-086 (Unregistered) - 2007-03-11
 » not a TA-082

If you're experiencing brightness issues, your PSP is a TA-086. Go to lan.sh as there is a fix in the hacking and development section. A post made by vadd about devhook hybrid. The fix is fairly deep in the thread, but it's in there and it works...

   Re: TA-086 (Unregistered) - 2007-03-11
 » more info

It is at the very top of page 6 of the "2.71 TA-082 Devhook hybrid firmware brightness fix" thread. Follow those directions EXACTLY! and your brightness issued will be mostly gone. (It'll still exist in the recovery menu, but it's better than nothing.)

 » absolutely

Yes , and it also has embedded keys which can cause devestating issues if your pspis different then the one the keys were taken from.

 » Meh...

I ran this on my ta-082 PSP that was recently downgraded. It detected that I'd used the Noobz downgrader and patched 5 or 6 keys. I don't know what it fixed since I didn't have any problems before, but it still works so I guess it serves some kind of purpose.

» actually codes admitted Chilly's app was first

actually its been proven THIS is a rip off of Chilly Willys previous release as of 3-4
heres XsavioR's post proving this
http://forums.exophase.com/showpost.php?p=2704&postcount=12

And heres Codes saying hes sorry to chilly (whos work codes copied)
http://forums.maxconsole.net/showpost.php?p=451550&postcount=32

as you can see XsavioR didnt copy any thing, nor did chilly. Codes actually seems to have named his app after the one he got the idea from , which chilly originally made.
