Tom Clancy titles have always been high-end shooters that not only gave you the feeling of being a living, breathing, thinking machine of organized destruction and tactical supression, but they also paved the way for an entirely new take on the shooting game genre - that "take" being the ability to predict your opponent's movements three or four steps ahead by clever use of strategy and weaponry

All that's in this gameplay video update where we see Ubisoft's latest offering of the Tom Clancy series on the PSP, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 in action.

In these videos, we see quite a large chunk of gameplay for Mission 1 and Mission 2 - and suffice to say, the game doesn't disappoint even in PlayStation Portable form. In fact, I'd even go out to say that it doesn't look like a portable title at all, but rather a full console title. Yes, it's that good.

Slick graphics, crisp sound effects, an over-the-shoulder camera that lets you get a full view of the action - it's all here, and with the same explosion-packed quality that we've come to expect from Tom Clancy titles. Enjoy!

On Shelves This Week - Image 1

BioShock on the Xbox 360 - Image 1We're hoping you guys saved up enough money for this week's releases. There's quite a lot of eye-catchers hitting the shelves and every single major platform out there - PS3, 360, Wii, PC, PSP, and DS - has at least one good title to offer.

Those who were able to try out the demo of BioShock can finally dive into the full game. Don't forget to take your daily dose of plasmids when you're there. Meanwhile, GRAW 2 will roll out for the PS3 and PSP as well. Tactical shooting has never been this orgasmic.

Handheld gamers get a heavy dose of RPG treatment with the release of Jeanne d'Arc and Dragoneer's Aria for the PSP. Whether you want to go for turn-based or SRPG, we'd still suggest you get both. DS owners get some bite-sized fun with more Brain Age 2 training and Turn It Around - another "mini-game collection" title that'll surely get heads spinning.

Let's get ready for the plunge! On Shelves This Week include...

BioShock. Take a dive into the not-so-dead underwater city of Rapture as you FPS your way through the horror of Big Daddies and Little Sisters. Hone your skill on controlling the destructive powers of the plasmids to fight for your survival.
  • Xbox 360, PC - August 21, 2007
  • US$ 59.99 (Xbox 360), US$ 49.99 (PC)
  • ESRB M (Mature 17+)
  • 2K Boston/Australia and 2K Games
Jeanne d'Arc. Another RPG heading to Sony's handheld platform, but this time in the form of a tactical RPG. The game is a historical-fiction retelling of the times of Joan of Arc. And because we know Milla Jovovich reincarnated the said heroine on the silver screen, this title will probably also have some of us awake at night seeing holy visions.
  • PSP - August 21, 2007
  • US$ 29.99
  • ESRB T (Teen)
  • Level-5 and Sony Computer Entertainment

Sony PS3 and PSP owners who've been waiting for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable) have something to be happy about, because Ubisoft recently announced that the title has gone gold for both Sony platforms.

Grabbing Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the PS3 bags you more than just new maps, weapons, and female operatives - the SIXAXIS will also play a major role in creating an entirely new tactical fragging experience. What we've got in the videos below are brief introductions to new features involving Sony's motion sensing gizmo.

To start it off, you can now aim your scopes by utilizing SIXAXIS for the perfect shot. UAV and MULE drones can also be driven using the controller. It seems like Captain Mitchell will be more agile this time around, since a quick snap of the SIXAXIS can make him roll out of trouble.

Expect to see both versions on shelves this August 21. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 will also be available for the Xbox 360 and the PC. Check out the first video below:

What we have here are new screenshots for upcoming game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 courtesy of IGN. The title was supposed to ship out back in May alongside the PC version but Ubisoft eventually delayed the release date. Some sources now say that GRAW 2 is coming this August 21.

Anyway, GRAW 2 is actually the eight installment in the highly successful tactical shooter franchise Ghost Recon. A few of the new features that come with the game include improved AI as well as version 2.0 of the ever-popular Cross Com. If you really want to know, its musical score was provided by Tom Salta.

The game brings players to year 2014, just around 48 hours after the events in the first GRAW game took place. The U.S. Army is having an encounter with Mexican loyalists and the whole story of the game only happens in 72 hours so expect a lot of action immediately.

Ready for a sneak peek at Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW 2) for the PSP? Yesh1683 from GameTrailers uploaded a video of Gamer.tv's June 10 episode which featured a first look at the much anticipated video game.

So far, Ubisoft's GRAW 2 PSP version is looking good for something still in development. The weapons that players will be able to use as Capt. Scott Mitchell are as cool as before. The sniper rifle, rocket launcher, and the UAV drone are still in attendance with the addition to an automatic rifle called the M29OICW. It packs a grenade launcher and scope, plus players can use its laser to tag enemies for air strikes.

Anyway, check out the video. We're sure you'll find something you like. Just remember, it *is* still a work in progress, so be kind.

Fans of the Ghost Recon franchise may have been disappointed by the delayed release of the game's PSP version, but it looks like things are heating up again in anticipation of the game's new release date (some sourced indicate that the game will hit August 21).

Today we have a few new screenshots of the PSP version of Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, the eighth installment in the popular Ghost Recon tactical shooter franchise. This game builds on the events in the first GRAW and once again gives players control of the Ghosts.

Improved AI and version 2.0 of the familiar Cross-Com are just a few of the cool features that the latest Ghost Recon title will be bringing to the table. Find out if the game lives up to the franchise's standards when it hits stores this Spring.

One big chunk of the immersive gameplay experience, along with great graphics and content, is soundtrack. What would Super Mario Bros be without the memorable soundtrack by Koji Kondo? That said, what would Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (and the original too) be without soundtrack composer Tom Salta?

Well, Tom Salta's soundtrack of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 pretty much lets us in on both the action and the general feel of a particular scene or a level. We've got three of examples of which from IGN. One is a tearjerking soft aria (The Tragedy of War), while the other two illustrate mounting tension (A Bridge Too Far and Juarez Under Fire).

For those who haven't played Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 yet - or was too busy taking care of business to pay attention to the score, click on play to check out the songs. Oh, there are a couple more over at Full Article.

Ubisoft delays GRAW 2, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Driver 76 - Image 1We all already know that Sony needs to broaden their current library of video games for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). With that said, this development might leave you a bit upset for the rest of the day, or until your favorite titles finally launch, so be warned.

As it goes, the publisher and developer Ubisoft has just announced that some more PSP titles will not make their scheduled release dates. For one, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas for the PSP was originally expected way back in November 2006, but was pushed back to January this year, and then again to May. To make things worse, Ubisoft is now saying that fans will get the video game by "Spring."

Another Tom Clancy title, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, is now set for a June release, which is a whole month later than the original release schedule. If anyone can remember, there were some hush-hush talks about this delay a couple of weeks ago, but apparently,  Ubisoft just simply chose to remain tight-lipped about the matter until now. Lastly, Driver 76 was originally scheduled to be released this March, but now, the company explained that the title needs more development time and is hence being pushed back to June.

Well, let's just hope that they make up for the delays by delivering some well-polished games!

Hope the date on this one's real. Gamestop preorder for PSP GRAW 2 - Image 1

Although this report comes from Pro-G (UK), we can be sure the details are very much Euro-specific, but estimates are it applies to North America, too. You already know that the PS3 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is scheduled to chopper in this June. Pro-G's reports that Ubisoft has slipped that it will be escorted by the UMD and PC-DVD versions of the game.

Potential confirmation of this story comes from Gamespot; when you visit their pages for the PS3, PC, and PSP versions, they all list with a June 5, 2007 shipping date. All we can say is... it took long enough. But hey, it's not one of those "When it's done" titles now, is it?
