Sony has just revealed that they'll be hitting European PlayStation Portables with Go!View's big launch this summer. The new service will allow handheld users to download video and watch TV on demand. The service was first announced and discussed in last year's Games Convention over at Leipzig, Germany. It's been put up in cooperation with satellite company Sky. Sony and Sky have promised to bring gamers a wealth of video content via Go!View. With it, media can be enjoyed on the go without using UMD movies. Pricing hasn't been detailed yet, but payment can come in either pay-per-view or subscription forms. Registration can be done in the official Go!View site, which you can visit when you click on the source link below. |

» maybe fat
dunno wasn't Go! able to run on psp fats. bet this will be an upgrade to the go service more then the actual psp firmware (maybe have to update to run like new games). wonder if you will have to buy a satalite adapter to use the sky service is my question (and will it open up satalite internet w/subscription) would be worth it if the service isn't over priced

» I think
I think it will be the content will be through the internet, not satellite as the latter would be way to expensive.

» Phats,
Might work on Phat, with hacks. Some sort of emulated PSP Slim in a Phat or something?

» Dont think so..
That probly wud'nt work because remember the hardware is what sets the slim apart, not software. So it would be virtually impossible to emulate the extra ram and things like that.

» phats,
good move from sony but i dont think the phat psps will be banned from the service because all the payment services available for all psps but the free services should be for the new systems only so be happy phat owner but it would be a big mistake to leave the phat owner to umd movies
