If you've been patiently waiting for the June 3 release of God of War PSP, you may want to check your local stores in person. We've recently found an account of someone picking up one of those special PSPs at his local Wal-Mart.Over on the GameSpot user blogs, soul_motor reports that he was able to snag one of the coveted PSPs. The picture to your right shows the PSP in question, along with the receipt. If you're interested in grabbing one for yourself ahead of the release date, you might just want to head over to your local store and ask really nicely. |

» Walmart is a pos.
They break street dates on everything. Doesn't matter though, the company has so many lawsuits against it it doesn't even matter. The fact that they make so much money in a minute to cover the amount of lawsuits is bs.
Someone needs to shut Walmart down and quit it with this bull***** monopoly since the company is nothing more than a parasite on society.

Something definitly needs to be done about walmart. All they do is screw over small business. With nobody to compete with Walmart can just take over........and on their way they can do stupid $hiT like mess up release dates. ~Walmart can suck my balls~

i'm sure almost everyone that complains about walmart is a frequent shopper there. walmart doesn't screw over small businesses, small businesses screw themselves over. if they were a good business then they could just become another walmart. walmart started small just like any other business, and because they're good a business, they became a huge monsterous franchise. it's simply just good competition. if you can't compete, your store isn't good anyways. and as for breaking release dates? you're really gonna complain about that? you're an idiot if you wouldn't want to get something earlier. [/rant]

» Competition Not Always Fair.
If you for a minute thought that Wal-Mart was a fair business to compete with, you are in for a surprise. Take any economics class with a knowledgeable teacher or ask around. Wal-mart

» oops.. Pressed submit on accident.
Wal-Mart is known to sell products BELOW the break-even price. You know why the do that right? to knock of the competition. They do it because they can afford it. Getting rid of "small" annoyances can bring in possible higher revenues in the future.

» Re: FoolMonkey
How are you sure that everyone that shops at walmart is a frequent shopper there? Is there some survey that was given to people?
eg.
{Circle one}
1. Do you hate WalMart?
[Yes] [No]
If you answered yes to question 1, go to question 2.
2. Are you a frequent WalMart shopper?
[Yes] [No]
I don't see that being passed out to people or given to people as part as a customer satisfaction research survey. I hate WalMart and refuse to shop there. In fact, I've only ever stepped into a WalMart once, and that was to pick up a drug perscription for my elderly grandmother. I don't support them at all, not only because they're destroying the job market for small business owners but because their environmental policies are nearly non-existent. Back to the small business owners thing, do you really believe that WalMart isn't destroying the market for them? A mom and pop business that sells, lets say, blankets and the like, goes up in a town. A year later, a WalMart opens in thew town, selling brand name blankets at a lower price than the blankets the mom and pop business makes. People start going to the WalMart to buy their blankets instead and the mom and pop business goes under. What are they supposed to do? Work for the WalMart? How are they supposed to make a living and support themselves, much less children if they have any? Thats besides the real point though. Breaking the street date on a product is a complete violation of the trust of the distributor. The distributor sends the product to the retail outlet to be sold on a certain day to be released to the public SIMULTANEOUSLY. Bresking the street date is unfair to the general public and unfair to the distributor. Now that doesn't mean that if I went into GameStop and asked if they had a copy of QuakeWars (which comes out tomorrow) and I had no idea the game wasn't out, and they sold one to me, I would complain. If I found out later, I'd be kinda psyched about it, but that would give me an unfair advantage against other players technically.
Of course I'd love to get something earlier, but getting it on the day it comes out is just as good. So I'll wait for my games thanks.

(I have no idea why it won't let me actually reply to your post directly, so I'm just going to do it through here)
Its not always about starting small, especially in todays day and age. Its all about primary funding these days. Big name corporations start as an idea and then they're brought to a bank to get a loan for, or brought to your millionaire daddy to fund. Sam Walton was a business mogul, thats why WalMart took off, in the 60's! To start a new business today takes a substantial amount of money! Believe me, I fully realize this. I may be only 19, but one of my friends and I are trying to open an AirSoft store in Massachusetts and its not going to happen anytime soon because of the financial situations we're both in. It costs money to either buy a building or rent. If you buy one, you have to pay property tax, you're paying rent otherwise. You need to have a sufficient stock to sell, and people to help run the business, much less advertising. The costs for starting a business were MUCH less in the 60's, Walton started WalMart on 25k! If I had to take a guess as to how much it would cost for me to start my business today, I'd estimate it nearly 60k. Thats not money you can just throw around lightly. If you have 60k to throw around, then I issue a challenge to you good sir. Take that 60k and start a good business and have it become as sucessful as Walmart, but put your business near one and sell something they sell cheaper. You'll find out fast that they're the reason small business are becoming a rare breed.

You guys are complaining about getting this PSP early? Sometimes I wonder what it takes to please children nowadays.

» thats not true
I'm not complaining about getting the PSP early, I'm not buying it anyways. I've already got a slim and lite so there's no reason for me to buy it. Weso548 stated his views on WalMart, and foolmonkey criticized him for it and said WalMart is a "good" company. I respectfully disagreed and explained why I disagreed. IN the case of getting a PSP early, it doesn't give anyone an unfair advantage, like it would a game like Quake Wars, but its the principle of breaking the street date and being unfair the the general public thats in question. If you were patiently waiting for one of those PSPs for a few months and found out that someone got theirs a week and a half earlier than you, you wouldn't be upset in the least? I really wouldn't care that much, but there are people who do care.

if someone else got it earlier than you then you would wish that you got it early. just like if you had a small business you would wish you could be something like walmart.

dam guys u complain so much. who cares if someone got it first. and as a small business u should take it as a motivation and build it up. most likely u wont make it to be as big as walmart but u can get SOMEWHERE at least. u guys r just hating on both that guy that got the psp early and walmart

» I'm not hating on anyone except walmart
I don't hold any harsh feeling towards the guy that got the psp early, that would be completely uncalled for. The fact that WalMart sold it early is completely retarded. If you read my comments, its a violation of the trust of the distributor and a breach of the contract i'm sure walmart has to sign. WalMart does dirty business and they're underhanded about the things that they do. I don't see a reason why People like walmart, unless they don't look at the bad things that company does. In their case, the bad utterly outweighs the good.
