Jet Ski VCS

We at QJ.net have been given an exclusive sneak preview of what you may expect to see in Rockstar's upcoming PSP title Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. An abundance of information has been released on the game lately, but thanks to dedicated PSP magazine Go>Play, which isn't released until August 24th, we can give even more information on the sequel to the best-selling PSP title to date. Here's all what we have gathered:

Missions:
  • Many of the missions in VCS involve you taking multiple forms of transport, from sea to land, land to air or any number of combinations to keep the gamer's interest.
  • One mission involves Vic Vance (the lead character in GTA:VCS i.e you) performing stunts on a Jet Ski and then switching to a motorcycle. Although the storyline for this mission hasn't been revealed for obvious reasons, we can assume that this is one of those introductions to a new vehicle that Rockstar do so well.
  • Another mission is a little more pro-active, involving Vic piloting a chopper whilst Lance Vance (yes, he's back and as annoying as ever!) mans a machine gun mounted on the side of a chopper mowing down bikers.  Then Vic takes to the streets, infiltrating the bikers compound and finishing them off. Again, this seems like an introduction to choppers in VCS, much-like Tommy Vercetti's mission in Vice City that was well err...pretty much the same thing.
Tunes:

Our friends at Go>Play magazine also got a chance to hear a small selection of the 80's tracks that you could be listening to in October when the game is release. Although they may not make the final game, it's logical to assume that they wouldn't cut them out. 80's sounds such as Blondie, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Depeche Mode are just a few that you can expect, if you can remember the eighties. Oh wait, GTA gamers are all 18+ so most of you should remember the 80's, right?

More!
  • Vice City is in a period of change with many construction sites scattered around the place. Some landmarks you may remember from Vice City will still be under construction, but we are unaware if any of them have any significance to the game itself as of yet.
  • One brand new landmark which you won't remember from Vice City is the Chunder Wheel: a Ferris wheel that's a tribute to the wonder wheel in the 1979 cult classic The Warriors. Whats even better is that you can actually ride the Chunder Wheel, which makes an excellent sniping point.
  • The sniper rifle has been dramatically improved in Vice City Stories, with a much better look and a better draw distance, making it easier to use.
  • Those annoying loading times between islands are still present but have been dramatically reduced. Bad news for those who used to enjoy grabbing a coffee whilst you load the next island in Liberty City Stories.
Go>Play magazine containing this amazing preview amongst some great reviews and details on homebrew applications goes on sale on August 24th and can be bought from all good UK retailers or can ordered and shipped internationally through the company's website. Hurry up, there's only 2 days left!

Good deal. As long as they let us use custom GTA tracks like liberty city stories AND mix commercials in with Custom soundtracks like they did with San Andreas on the X-Box then I'll be EXTREMELY happy
