The last time we heard from PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Auraomega was when Project4 Open Beta 2 was released. After a number of people expressed that they had problems with installing the said release, Auraomega dropped us a line to explain.

In case you missed the previous reports, Project4 is a homebrew application that lets users replace their PSP's XMB (cross media bar) with a customized one.

According to the developer, the installation problems mainly stemmed from people not going through the readme before trying to install Project4. Here's Auraomega's post from the Darkmessiah forums:

Ok people, it looks like everyone fell foul of a purposeful thing I added to Project4, after the problems with bricking last time around because people didn't read the readme, I decided to NOT make a file structure, instead I hoped people would read into it and find where the file must go. The Project4 installer has a hard coded loading path, which is ms0:/PSP/GAME/Project4, you MUST have all the files in here for it to work :? next time I'll just place this in the readme I think, and I'm sorry for any problems this has caused.
