Media Create - Image 1You know it's a slow sales week in Japan when there are no Wii games in the top 10 games. The new game sales charts for Japan are in from Media Create and they indicate that the Nintendo DS has dominated the charts for the week ending on October 21. The PS2 is in second place, and a lone Xbox 360 and PSP game also were thrown in the mix.

The slow down may very well be just the eye of the storm that is Super Mario Galaxy, which will hit in just a few days. The first Wii game to enter the charts is in Wii Sports in 12th place. The first PS3 game to enter is Lair, in 21st place. Here are the top 10 games in Japan for last week:

  1. Seaman 2 (PS2, Sega) - 33,000 units
  2. DS Literature Collection (DS, Nintendo) - 32,000 units
  3. Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Meteor (PS2, Bandai-Namco) - 20,000 units
  4. DS Nishimura Kyotarou Suspense Detective Series: Deadly Intent (DS, Tecmo) - 20,000 units
  5. Gundam Battle Chronicles (PSP, Bandai-Namco) - 19,000 units
  6. Pokémon Mysterious Dungeon: Time Expedition Party (DS, Pokémon) - 19,000 units
  7. Beautiful Katamari (Xbox 360, Bandai-Namco) - 19,000 units
  8. Pokémon Mysterious Dungeon: Shadow Expedition Party (DS Pokémon) - 16,000 units
  9. Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day (DS, Nintendo) - 15,000 units
  10. Racehorse Owner Life Game: Winner’s Circle (DS, Genki) - 15,000 units

 » DS Domination?

Uhh of the top 5... the DS only has two with a total sales of 52,000. There are 2 PS2 games in that that total 53,000 units and a PSP title with 19,000.

You guys obviously can't add.

the article was referring to the total number of sales for the entire top 10 and the number of games per platform that entered the chart.

 » Ds won?

The ps2 is top, but the most supprising thing is: An xbox 360 title? WTF! lol.

Still, the DS was GREAT!, the ds is surely making money money that the ps3-x360 even when we add all the world's sells. lol. Still, the PSP is doing GREAT too, even greater compared to it's start, lol. At 1st I had a psp, then I sold it, then I suppose I'll maybe buy another one, lol (cheaper since I sold mine 250$ with a 1g card that I didn't paid a lot, lol (I had the 1.5 version with the dark alex firmware so it really added values) lol

Anyway, What I want is assassin's creed right now, and nothing else, espacially not something like katamari, I mean, I like the kind of game (I loved the 1st) but that's not at all what I'm in need for right now, I need complex and profond games! :D With a great story and with action! :D
