Jump Gunnar, Jump!

Hardhat and the rest of his team from PSPSMM have released version 1.2 of Hardhat's amazing homebrew game Jump Gunnar, Jump! The game was originally made for the PS2Dev programming competition, but after not meeting the deadlines with a complete version Hardhat has continued to update his game with new levels and better graphics.

Here's whats new for this release:

- 30 levels included now
- Added doors; red, blue, green, yellow. keys are needed to open these doors.
- Added teleporters (activate with square)
- Updated enemy: Climber is replaced by a new Red bug (only graphics, behaviour stays the same)
- New terrain: slippery ground
- Added slippery slopes to engine, graphics and level editor.
- Fixed chests: open with bombs and fruit will pop out
- New sound effects for doors, teleporters and keys
- Updated level editor with new terrain types.
- Added icon to the EBOOT.PBP file.
- Added horizontal sliding (momentum)
- Animated evil duck (Anders)
- Shield now works.
- Almost a complete rewrite of the engine
- General improvements on the sprite sheet
- quicker stops on regular ground

You're all spoilt with choices, because not only does Jump Gunnar, Jump! come with all the above updates, but you can choose to use a Windows version or a PSP version - or even better both! Both releases include the source code and a level editor so feel free to create as many new maps or mods for this game as you can!

... these games always get nice changelogs :D. Good job, hope you keep churning these out. The PSP scene needs some GOOD homebrew every now and then...

Ok... a sheep that shoots out a gun and tries to avoid cows from shooting at him??? When would people actually like that kind of concept..? Not that I'm critisising the complexity of the codes behind it... I'm just saying that the concept is wierd.. anyways... its allright...

peace :D

There is no folder for 1.5 users :(

   by WernherVonBraun (Unregistered) - 2006-07-07
 » nope

thats right, you need to kxploit it yourself or use nokxploit. IT DOES WORK, we tested it ;) the files just get to large to include two versions

» It's not so much that I'm lazy,

But might I suggest you upload two different .zip/.rar archives: one for FW 1.0 and the other for FW 1.5.

Seeing as the size would get large with both in one archive, it's just a suggestion ;)

» No-KXploit is really what you want.

Well, I really like No-KXpolit. Get it here: http://pspupdates.qj.net/No-More-KXploit-for-1-50-PSP-NO-KXploit-Patcher-Released/pg/49/aid/18092

Who would want to have all those messy corrupt folders in the VSH anyway?

» Level 2: Shoot up then super jump up.

Hi YEY,

I'll definately add a map mode in 2.0, so that you can save and revisit levels.

Hi hamburgler,

Sorry about that. We were supposed to swap level 2 and 9, since it is a little bit tricky.

To beat level 2, take the trampoline elevator up the right side of the map. Shoot up (see the readme) then hold X for a super jump -- that's where the exit is.

   by hamburgler - 2006-07-09
 » i did it :)
