PSP - Image 1It hasn't been 24 hours yet and already we are seeing some homebrew developments on the new PSP FW 5.00. Dark AleX has now released the PSARDUMPER for 5.00 with the following notes:

This is psardumper to extract 5.00.
Modules of psp3000 cannot be extracted and decrypted yet, due to keys being in 3000 ipl (kernel keys) and mesg_led03g.prx (filenames table keys).

Due to that, you will see various "warnings", just ignore that.

Many thanks to Silver-Tiger and jj_ob for the tip!

 » somewhat noob question...

im kinda a noob with THIS stuff... what is a psar dumper? is it like a beta cfw?

Re: Aces In The Palm - 2008-10-15
» not needed for installing CFW anymore

sony firmware updates (PBP files) generally have 4 files you need pbpunpacker to get to
the data.psar is the main firmware information, psardumper "unzips" all the individual system files so you can see how the firmware works
first step of creating custom firmware

Re: Aces In The Palm - 2008-10-15
 » oops

just relised CFW never needed dumped firmware
its the downgraders that needed it

   Re: Binary - 2008-10-15
 » ,,

as he just saying its just program for the PROS.

Which means we will be seeing a custom firmware anytime soon because the New update has been decrypted.

» Can Anyone Please Help Me On How Or Where...

To put the psardumper folder (or src folder?) in? I mean I am new to this and I wanted to make sure that it works, you know? - Since there is no instruction coming with both folders. So, also, within each folder (both) that contains different folders... I don't know what to do or which way to put them (or one folder only?) in. That is all.
