We learned a couple of days ago that Nihon Falcom is planning to release Sora no Kiseki: Material Collection Portable, a UMD filled with various Legend of Heroes VI goodies for PlayStation Portable. Today, we have more info regarding Sora no Kiseki: Material Collection Portable as well as a new compilation UMD for the franchise.Aside from the Gurumin demo, Material Collection Portable will also contain a demo for Sora no Kiseki, a soundtrack with 147 songs, over 70 wallpapers, and all movies from the FC and SC games. It is scheduled for a Japan-only release on December 20 for 3,800 Yen (US$ 32.55). For those not familiar with the series, Nihon Falcom is also planning to release Sora no Kiseki Perfect Edition in Japan which contains the full FC and SC titles as well as the above mentioned Material Collection Portable. It will also be released on December 20 for 11,970 Yen or around US$ 102.52. |

Fans of The Legend of Heroes series should definitely check this out: Nihon Falcom just released a goodie-laden UMD filled to the brim with Sora no Kiseki game goodness. It's not a new Sora no Kiseki title, but a fan UMD that contains several PSP wallpapers (some of which are calendars), PSP themes, cut scenes and background music. The best part? It's got a Gurumin demo as well. An extra-content disc getting published for a game franchise usually means that it's doing quite well in the market, and we're happy that Sora no Kiseki is getting all the love it deserves (hey, a double-UMD game does mean that the game is worth checking out, in epic proportions). Sora no Kiseki: Material Collection Portable (that's the name of the UMD goodie bag) most probably would suffer the fate of most supplementary discs and not get published in other regions, but hey, we can always dream, right? More images after the jump! |

And just when you thought that the era of single-disc games is here to stay, along comes a Japanese game that is apparently not enough for just one UMD. That's right folks, a dual UMD disc has finally been announced, and it's no other than the latest installment to the Legend of Heroes RPG series, Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki SC (a.k.a. Legend of Heroes: Miracle of the Sky, Second Chapter). As announced by the title's creator, Nihon Falcom Corporation, Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki SC is set to be released on September 27 of this year, and will be making use of two UMDs instead of the usual one. As of yet, there is still no mention on why exactly they ended up needing two discs. Of course there's always the possibility that the game isn't THAT large that it needs both of the discs, as there's always the chance that the second disc will contain extra goodies like movies, galleries, artwork, etc. But then again, until official word comes out, who knows? For those who may not be familiar with the Legend of Heroes series, it is one of the few console games that Nihon Falcom has ever created, as the company primarily focuses on developing RPGs for the PC. Because of this, Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki SC also has a PC version for those who prefer playing on their desktops. As we wait for more news about this game, here are some screenshots from both the PSP and the PC version of the game, as well as a short demo movie that was taken from the game's official site. More screenies and a video after the jump! |
