While we ourselves aren't quite sure how useful this ultimately is, we have to admit that a number of us here at QJ found it cool anyways. QJ reader nano alerts us to this YouTube video where YouTube user obiwan222222 claims been able to play the Wii on his PSP using Location Free support. |

F1R57 P057!!!!
whooooooooooooooooot, thats awsome brosif
it will wow most people but....
no not me. you can plug any video device to that 200 dollar, even ps2/ps3 dvd or even the almighty nes then transmit the video data to the psp.
there's even some homebrews that can do this if you have a wifi router and a pc with video in capabilities.
anyways nice show off.
Omfg, "and no, im not 12, 13 or 14. I'm 16 and just have a high pitch voice" :D. Well, he made me laugh :').
you should edit your voice to make it DEEPER! :O
I would use my Location Free Player to display Halo 2 (or Halo 3 when it comes out) on my PSP's screen. I have wireless Xbox 360 remotes so I could plkay in my rooom where i don't have a T.V.
If its real, its pretty cool. Must be some bad lag between the wiimote and the PSP Screen though.
dis changes everything................
damn super genius.
anyway
how can the psp run wii when it can't even run n64?
Lmao, please tell me youre joking. Its just playing the screen, much like Pimpstreamer does. LOCATION FREE Says it all.
ive never seen such a stupid post !! lol ! cant you read first ?? if you just watch the video and guess what you want about it then your an idiot....
how old is that kid?, he is more intelligent than me, internet explorer and word is enought hard for me :p
he said he was 16 in the video.. (with a high pitched voice) haha
he even says he's using it to stream video! the wii is not running on the psp the video is only sent to it to output on the psp screen.
The location free player is letting the PSP stream the Wii from the TV... Durka durka.
same kid who did the gamecube on psp about a month ago. same thing. same g*damned thing on qj again. and again.
I've read about the location free player. it can stream pretty much any audio/video to all nearby location free devices (psp, ps3 i think, and some sony tvs) I didn't read everything, but it sounded pretty sweet :D
Oh lawd.... I came.
Oh, and that was pretty tight looking. I kinda want a wii to see if I could do this.
duuude hes only 16
you shouldnt be having those kinds of thoughts about a 16 yr old
SICKO :P
Someone's done it on a GBA sp. Now that screen is much tinier.
"No, I am not 10, 11, 12, or 13. I'm 16 with a high-pitched voice"
Wow man you are my hero!!! haha.
You could do anything. Cable, air tv, gamecube, wii, and the ps3 even if you wanted to. So this really isn't anything important. I could even do this if I had the hardware for it. Anyone who wants to send me a free location free I will prove it. :)
...but it was made by a 3 year old girl.
HAHAHHA this kid is proving what we already knew we could do, but hes taking credit for it... lets make his puberty a lot less enjoyable if you know what i mean
yeah can this *****ing little ***** even speak english? seriously, i could not understand a single work he/she said. 16? more like testosterone defficiency :P
Finally we can play Nintendo 64 games at full speed and full sound! This is great!!! No more 8 fps- no sound N64 games for me!
And thank you Pimp Streamer for allowing me to use my Wii to access my computer's media!
He couldn't sound any more like a fat kid if he tried.
Neither could your mom. Might want to advise the treadmill to her every now and then.
this is soo cool!
can we pleese have a tutorial?
1. Buy PSP, Wii, and Location Free Player.
2. Plug the Wii's output (composite) red, white and yellow RCA cables into the back of the Location Free Player.
3. Follow Location Free instructions to hook up the PSP. (Your PSP must be 2.5 or higher.)
4. Set the PSP to be viewing the Wii output.
5. Play the Wii on your PSP screen.
this isn't amazing, the locationfree player just has a/v plugs in the back so bascially anything like that can be diasplayed on the psp, of course theres lag time. ive already plugged my ps3 into and streamed blu-ray movies to my psp and worked fabulously
ya i agree but its just been a slow month for qj.net until r10 comse out, or antother theme made by a random person.
QJ, you need to just post ONE tutorial on what the Location free player does and how it works. We don't need an article every time someone plays a different system through the LFP. The thing is several hundred dollars in itself, and for that price, you might as well just go by the Wii itself (that is if you can even find it). Seriously though, the location free player can do this with movies, games, music, etc...and this isn't really showing anything new to what you have shown before..
that 5 year old kid should STFU
For one, this is the same little *****got that faked the n64 I believe. It's pretty pathetic, if you ask me. Look, you can see his reflection in the screen, he's a 12 year old kid. He's just begging for attention and you're giving him what he wants. Anybody can use LocationFree player, but he doesn't even have the technical skills to set up PiMP Streamer.
And for those thinking he's emulating the Wii on the PSP, he's not, at most what he could be faking is Wii control support by pointing it at the screen, and as you can see, he isn't. And if he was, what would be the point? Who would want to point at a small little screen and have to keep that huge ugly box (which is just an over-sized IR bar) on top of the PSP.
Turn your heads, and don't look back. This one's a failure.
Gamecube, not n64, sorry.
That kid hasn't hit puberty yet.
This is a dumb post.
Anyone can use it.
Anything can be streamed.
Why would you stream anything to the PSP?
The screen is way to small for it.
Just a waste of time.
I agree with all of your point except for the first one. Why should this kid be shunned for not hitting puberty? Sure it's sort of sad, but it's not his fault.
FAKE
People it's very simple, you can hook up a ps2 or ps3 or blue ray player to a location free player and use it to play games anywhere in the world! it's to bad that Sony didn't include that feature in the ps3 as originally specified. This kid is cool, he figured out a simple hardware way of being able to play with his Wii after his bedtime, I assume. Good job!
anywhere in the world as long as you have a magic super wireless controller that works on the power of wishes and dreams. the psp is not capable of controlling anything other than the presentation of the video output. he needed to use a wii controller. bluetooth only reaches about 30 ft, and the wireless ps2 controllers only work about 15 or so on RF. this is completely useless.
omg go read the location free support page, it tells you all about it there. do you think I'm farting this out my ass? god people who never read.
Also this is not a tiny screen the one used for the wii in this link is 1.5 inch

36th!!!!!
This is amazing....But it doesnt make sense......Well technologically yes....but in terms of use...no.
You dont play wii while your taking the bus to work.
you play the psp while you take the bus to work.
If you can afford a wii...the chances are...you probably can afford a TV.
and if you already have a wii....then you probably have a TV already.
this is so stupid, it's not practical to start off with, a 4 year old could of came up with this, as proof by the voice in the video, and it has a delay, who the ***** would do this, everything would happen seconds after you actually did it
Everyone seems to be forgetting that theres a 6 second delay between anything he does and the actual output on the psp screen, so yeah, it's real useful heh.
He's simply showing that it can be done...just like how that other dude showed he could run GameCube off of the PSP screen.
Pointless, yes. But just proves it can be done. Kinda like how you can run Windows 98 on the PSP.
Slow as friggin' hell, but shows it can be done.
Its the same person.
The dude who did gamecube is the same person who did this wii video.
check it out on our forums somewhere -->
