Forecasts for the PSPA new year will always bring a fresh start for a lot of us. And even though the PSP has been out since March 2005 (December 2004 in Japan), there's still some new stuff to look forward to this year. We've seen a couple of thrills and spills throughout 2006, so what's there left for the handheld this 2007?

Pocket Gamer flushed out a list of 10 things which people could expect from their trusty handheld this year. Of course, before anything else, we have to say that this is just a forecast based on previous events and are listed upon the Pocket Gamer's opinions and analysis. It's their own take on how events would unfold for the PSP.

One of the interesting things they pointed out is the possibility of the "new PSP." Sony's prospect of releasing a PSP 2 has already been rumored about for some considerable time now including recent whispers about a redesigned PSP to be revealed this year.

Sprawling as these rumors are, they just are rumors (and have even been heavily debunked by some). But whether these new babies would decide to show themselves or not, people can still hope for a successor to the handheld. It could be the fabled PSP 2, or maybe something else entirely.

I would be extremely happy with just a near perfect N64 emulator. I hope the PS2 thing was a joke.

Plenty of great comes to come out in 2007.. hopefully they will sort out the streaming/remote play feature via internet for PS3-PSP connectivity. I would definitely like a redesigned, slimmer PSP with two thumbsticks, touchscreen and bluetooth.

Whoever thinks there's gonna be a ps2 emulator deserves a kick in the nuts. That's the dummest thing I've heard this year.

I mean it doesnt take a rocket scientists to realize the guy MEANT to say "I hope the PSP 2 thing is a joke". I mean after all, this article mentioned PSP 2, not PS2.

There is no way the psp could emulate ps2, its just not possible.

So stop talking about it already, because he meant to say PSP 2
