MAME4ALLKech has released a port of MAME4ALL for the PSP, with the aid of Sazuke2911, Chui and Franxis. MAME4ALL is an emulation of arcade video games, allowing you to play all those favourites from yesteryear.

This version contains improvements such as:

  • More compatibility
  • The use of the 'Home' key to quit out of the game that is running, and to quit out of the emulator
Current bugs in this version include:
  • Sound is not 100% working in the majority of ROMs
  • ROMs larger than 10mb (zipped) doesn't work
  • Not all the games that previously worked in Chui's MAMEGP32x work in this version
Kech is also working on the possibility of loading the ROMs through Wi-Fi. He's also very much open for constructive suggestions, to reach him, just click on the thread below.

 » Emu Options...

In the readme notes it says in part 3 that we can set the GP2X Clock. I don't see this option, only Video Option and the options are from "fixed" to others... Did we put the right download link to the right Emu?

I am also trying to stretch the screen, but somehow I can't do this like it states in the Control directions. I am thinking I must have downloaded a wrong emu. Maybe a earlier version somehow?

The correct version is here in this link: http://www.talfi.net/gp32_franxis/

» hey these notes are for GPX

Hey the notes are meant for GPX.. no wonder I couldn't figure out why I didn't have the extra menu features in the control options.. LOL! My bad!! What is GPX being promoted on PSP--is beyond me but I guess the regular version you download works with PSP.. but not with the extra features and skins as in GPX..

 » Great JOB!

Hey great work devs! I got Bust-a-Move to work after finding the right rom set but I couldn't get TMNT to work but that's okay at least I have something to keep me busy until the next release. Hopefully I would love to see an option to be able to map the joystick to the analog nub instead of using the directional pad for certain games and be able to change the screen size too. I know it's still a WIP but great job on this!

where can i get the roms wat do i search for

   by 639 (Unregistered) - 2006-05-31
 » ....

I think asking for links to roms is against the rules because having roms of games you don't own is in fact illegal (so they say). You are on your own when it comes to find the roms. Google is your best friend and there are already enough info on what you should be searching for in the gamelist mention above or in the thread in the forum. But I can tell you this much, you are going to need rom sets from v.34 or v.35 or MAME because the source behind MAME4ALL is either MAMEv.34 or v.35 or perhaps a combo of both. MAME itself is up to v.106 already and a lot has changed since then especially the core of MAME itself and the renamings of some roms. If you're lucky and find roms for MAME, most likely they are the correct rom sets for the latest version. That is why a dat for either romcenter or clrmame is included so you are able to compare to see if you have the correct rom sets to be able to be played on MAME4ALL.

LOVE IT!!! Audio needs tweaked and compatibility with more ROMs would be wonderful...but hay - I can't do it. Appreciate all the hard work! Have several games, but missing a few big ones - Pac Man, Mrs Pac Man, DK, DK Jr and Tron - if anyone can be of any help - please point me in the right direction.
