first !!! yes always wanted to do this
pretty cool
Well, not that bad... but what about us, MacOS or GNU/Linux or BSD users ? Will we have to bear with those stoooopid .exe files ? Imagine the mess it will be for us if this ever becomes a standard !
Now standardisation for homebrew installation would be a good idea, but please don't forget that there is a life beyond MS Windows...
cheers
lol, MAC users moan too much, almost as much as 3.03 fw owners
There is a standard for homebrew packaging, but it's not very widespread. Currently only Install-o-tron uses it. If you download some homebrew applications you see a "hbinfo.txt" that includes information about installation for different firmwares. Download installotron and you'll see a file about the syntax of hbinfo.txt files.
This installer should make use of a hbinfo.txt to find how to install the homebrew. This way here isn't very flexible (you can't install things differently for different firmwares - i.e. kxploit for 1.5, single folder for other firmwares) and only works on Windows computers with the correct .net framework.
Windows users are noobs, that's why they need such crappy things. I think that if you're running *nix you're able to transfer files to your PSP by yourself.
What? Proud to be the 1% of users who use a Mac, or the 5% who use Linux? Face it. Windows is the standard. And Microsoft owns nearly 40% of Apple.
"shiny rainbows" "chocolate chip cookies" there goes that new year resolution :D
wow... how has this not been moderated after 16 hours of it being posted
If you on a mac, go virtual windows program
The point is not "How could you use one OS to be able to use one "yet-to-come" PSP homebrew installing standard".
To me, it's more "How could we create a universally easy to use (i.e. easier than hbinfo.txt) PSP homebrew installing standard"
Let's not play that which OS is "da-best'o-the-ooool-fu'in'-OSz-in-da-world" thing. Let's just be clever. We all love homebrews, we all love our PSP : let's find a way to let each PSP owner feed it no matter what computer he owns.
@ KlmSoftware Network devs : congrats anyway guys, the very idea of making the homebrew installing process is a great step ahead.
