The more realistic and involving the game gets, and the greater the similarity between the action in the game and real life action, the stronger the negative effects would be. No, your son may not turn into a criminal. But exposure will take a toll on his life somewhere, probably in interpersonal relationships. These are subtle effects. They take time to surface. A teen isn't going to notice them. It's when you have other potentiating factors -- family problems, mental health issues, extreme stress, dangerous neighborhoods. Playing these games with or without the Wii enhancement is not going to take the typical teenage boy and make a killer out of him. |

The points is that you can't change the fact many parents are irresponsible and that no matter what thiswill end in the hands of little kids, then in the future that kid could be proned to domestic violence and or murdering of an innocent life and an innocent life shouldn't pay the consequences shouldn't he? Especially when some of this murders could be solved by banning certain games that exaggerate in grotesquety. All those who go against banning this game are unsensitive pricks who would value their joy of playing this sadictic game over innocent life's whou could be harmed.

All that this is is the overwhelming fear being pumped into stupid everyday citizens =by media propaganda. You get people like jack thompson saying th is will train killers, and you have a bunch of idiots trembling with fear which turns to anger on why they made this game. Which is a complete load cause theres way more violent movies and games elsewhere.
All i will say is this situation is a load of crap. let the game come out, it isnt like kids will play it if it has an M rating anwyays, the store employees will get fired! Or was that rule not passed? And why would kids even be playing this? dont parents notice what they buy for their kids? (cause i know kids dont get 50 bucks than drive themselves to the store to buy it) I remembered when i went with my mom to buy Unreal Tournament for the Dreamcast, the gy told my mom it was a mature rated game, adn why, she was cool with it and all, adn watched me play it to make sure it wasnt horrifically brutal.
People should stop sending propaganda around about these games, enforce the ESRB ratings and call it a day. If they did that, things would be fine, since kids wouldnt get it, and people wouldnt be afraid of frickin video games thev=yve never played.

What a load of crap. If the parents would DO THEIR JOBS and teach their kids the difference from reality and fantasy, then you wouldn't have any problems.
I have been in 1 fight in life, and that is because they "tried" to rob me at knife point. Luckily I have been studying Martial Arts and knew how to handle that situation. But that is the only time I ever used that training.
I know the difference from reality and fantasy. Because my parents brought me up properly, not just let a computer/tv or video games raise me like parents these days are doing.

I doubt teens in the 1950's would have wanted to see this sort of thing. I'm not saying that we are inclined to wield axes or pull the heads of cats. Just that we seem to have gotten quite used to horror, gore, and real life death in your face (we've all seen it on the 'net).

You that are teens/young adults right now will, generally speaking, also take that position at some point. Us adults were teens once with attitudes like yours, and yet most of us now think games like this are bad.
You might want to ask yourself why that is; and don't be surprised in a few years when you ultimately change your pov too.
