Wondering what developer deniska's been up to for the past few weeks? Guys looking out for the new versions of the MapThis! application may want to take a gander at this video that deniska's posted via Youtube, which features a preview for MapThis! 0.5. So, what's new in this latest release of deniska's custom map viewer for the PSP's accompanying GPS attachment? The ultimate in backseat driving: Voice prompts.

deniska expects to have MapThis! v0.5 ready by within the week - stay tuned in case more details for this latest release are found.

Would this work if I'd were to buy the GPS adapter for my european PSP, and have maps of Europe (Holland to be specific)? Or is that to soon to ask

 » Yes

Yes, you can use the PSP-290 anywhere in the world, I'm using it in Australia. You just need to download the maps yourself, which is piss easy.

 » gps addon required?

is the GPS system required to be attached to PSP in order for this program to function like it in the video? or is it a stand alone program that doesn't need the hardware?

 » Yes,

Yes, you must buy the GPS add-on for it to work. The GPS add-on isn't availible in America yet, but thanks to Play-Asia, You can import it for $68.70 with standard shipping.

You can still use MapThis alone to see maps that you downloaded from google though.

Great work deniska, this is the BEST homebrew out there to date by far, apart from DAX's OE firmware ;)

Now with Voice prompts even better....

Great..

This looks and sounds sweet. Really nice addition to the program. I can't wait to try it out. I hope the warning distance is adjustable but I will not be complaining if it isn't.
