  • New theme
  • UMD loading + return to shell function
  • Slideshow application (reads png and jpg)
  • Jpg image support up to 1280x960
  • Graphical MP3 player (under construction, but functional)
  • USB connection
  • Detailed battery indicator

"Looks good", but I'll stick with the psp oss program instead. With oss you can load UMDs, listen to music, active/deactivate USB, look at pictures, change theme, background, and it would even go back to the interface after you exited from a UMD, and more!!!

This shell program isn't really up to that point yet

Well, I haven't tried either, but Creativethinker77, this shell is said to do practically everything you mentioned about psp oss.

Well, Artillery v0.05 doesn't do everything that PSP OSS does. Other people have said that here and I've used both programs. So the rumors aren't correct...

Does this work for SOCOM? I really prefer 1.5 even though I can just downgrade whenever, I don't like the "oh noes you wore out your chip BRICK'D!" aspect of repeatedly downgrading.

This is a pretty cool looking shell, I can't wait to test it out.

Thanks to the creator for making this!

Looks like a great shell, Many of the shells coming out look great, but his one caught my eye with it's gorgous looks. Hopefully this shell will continue growing becuase I love it.

dosent seem to work on some psps people keep getting (bus error)

   by bkeny01 (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

Here's something cool, i have firmware 1.50 atm on my psp when i try to run Prince of Persia:revelations it tells me i need to run the 2.0 update.

Now the cool thing, I wasn't sure what the UMD launcher was in this so i clicked it, and Prince of persia ran! it didnt ask me to update whatsoever.

So far have played the first level with no crashes or anything.

Killjoy, there's a better way to express how you feel then " this is cool but it sucks."

For instance, I think that this app is going in the right direction, mainly because I like the whole "PC Desktop" look rather then the PSP Horizontal browsing. I also like the background, and the battery. Once they implement things into the start menu, which I don't expect to see immediate results to do lack of personnel, then I'll make requests of doing more and more.

That's about the most constructive way to criticize anybody's work. And since a good idea like this comes free, there's no reason not to appreciate what's already been brought to the table. ROOT ROOT to creators. GO PATRIOTS (vote on the underdogs)

i congratulate you on your combined efforts, its a nice tidy shell, i just hope you get the mp3 player to werk. that would be sweet, it almost ran Socom for me.
then went back to the original shell menu.

   by RitterRav (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

Maybe what would be ice if you could launch homebrew from the shell, but i know its just a alpha release.

   by InflamedSpirit (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

Well, I haven't tried either, but Creativethinker77, this shell is said to do practically everything you mentioned about psp oss. The only difference was changing the theme (which you probably could do manually on this one anyway) and going back to the interface on exit of a umd (which this one may do, I haven't tried).

It seems to me that they have very similar capabilities.

I was able to load up LOTR tactics, great job on this shell

its nice needs alot of work
pss oss is best out there imo

the iso launcher is nice for the ones that use iso's

the mp3 playback bites
the pic viewer bites i have comics that are under that resolution and it black screens

my major grip with these os's is that they work on iso loiader and than throw in the features that everyone wants like pic viewer, media player, and web browser and none of it works so i dont see these replaceing jpegview and iso emulator any time soon so i try them out see they got iso launcher working and everything else thats suppose to work dosent and it gets deleted

every one i know with a psp uses isos includeing myself but with the games that are out there all of us(the ones i know) use our psp for reading comics, manga, audio and movies and we try the new games and delete them.

so unless these developers focus on other parts of the OS features that everyone wants besides the few that want a iso launcher i dont see us ever using a OS more than looking at.

Its kinda like sony giving us a list of features that are being added toa firmware and we go to it and find out it dosent work but atleast with the OS's we can delete and froget.

i dont code and never will and i think the developers of these OS's are doing a great job.

I just think thet they are focusing on the wrong part of the psp scene.

The first developer that comes out witha OS that has the features that work minus the iso launcher cause that seems to work in all the OS's will be the OS that is one everyones psp.

but i dont seee that any time in the future on what they are focusing on

and to be honest its easier to load a iso from the emulator that way u dont have to load a os launch game play it close game than close the os for anything else u do normaly on your psp.

Wow Kiljoy...thats a laundry list of complaints for something that is Still being made, being made by only 2 people, is homebrew and will obviously take time to mature, is Free....but no no, your right...keep ****ing. You're not hurting anybody.

.....what an ass.

   by Kiljoy (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

im not ****ing and as i said i think they are doing a great job the iso emulators work great

i just think that they are focusing on the wrong part of the scene

and im not flaming them or anything it was just my thoughts on it and its geared towards all the OS's that have came out since October 05 when the first one was released

But as i said in the first post i think they are doing a great job and doing alot better than i would just think they should focus less on booting isos and more on the features

and i dont see it as ****ing

and u can flame me all u want
and im sure u like it cause the iso booter works

i do like this OS it launchs isos great

THE DEVS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB ON ALL THE HOMEBREW AND THE OS'S ARE ADVANCING NICELY

just to clear that up that im not flaming the devs as u are flaming me for my opnion

   by pspone (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

Affinity- Great job on the graphical work, it looks amazing! I can't really talk about Bluewk because I've only looked at the screenshots.

by Illegal Machine (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

Kiljoy your opinion sucks

hence the reaction.

if you were under the impression that the psp scene was going to change directions as a result of your commentary, then allow me to introduce you to a friend of mine named

reality.

douche

   by Kiljoy (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

ok
ur right im a douche and my opion sucks as bad as yours does and your impion on stuff is so great

and u are right mostly everyone wants a iso loader and im suprised they put a OS that will launch isos on this site since umd emulator isnt here

and i know ur right the only reason we have home brew is for iso loaders

im so sorry illegal nmachine i should have asked you if i could post my opinion and all cause your the one that makes the scene what it is

and in reality your the coolest pwner ever

thanks for clarafying

i could be like you and call you a douche but i wont cause your the cooolest ever

   by Dainmymi (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

im not going to agree on any side however i see what Killjoy is talking about he is saying that devs arent making OS's that have features that are worth while. However killjoy doesnt understand that you can complain but unless you do something about it (like make your own OS) then well you can't really complain and if your trying to give suggestions well thats def not the way to do it. (it seems you say you apperciate the dev just so you dont get flamed that much, and by the way you complain shows you dont really care about the dev.)

The application used my current pointer. (just thought id throw that out there)

   by IntegTypeR (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

GO KILJOY! GO USC aww they lost *BOOM* GO EAGLES! yea... this **** looks so ****in clean omg! it even has like a windos media like player on it. to bad i went 2.6 no clue why i did that...

   by RaiderX (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

this is REALLY nice portal on the graphical side, but it is a bit buggy. anyway, the best one yet I think, but I suggest the default directory for music and photos be the ones in the PSP folder:

PSP/MUSIC
PSP/PHOTO

not those other folders.

   by Kiljoy (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

i think the devs are doing a great job and the scene has progressed over the months because of them not cause of me

i havent coded or ported anything and dont plan on doing so

and i use jpegviewer and umd emulator and other home brew everyday

i didnt mean it as a complaint to the devs at all they are doing a great job

im not trying to win a aguement cause i dont see one

the devs are doing great period

and im sorry if the devs took my comments as being a flame

   by IntegTypeR (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

Kiljoy, its cool man just save your breath. Theres no point in even tryin. And yea you did say the same thing in the first post.

killjoy.. give up man.. just stop commenting.. you are doing whats known as a "flip-flop.."

just give up.. you already lost man.

GREAT WORK ON THE SHELL!! THIS ONE IS DOPE!

   by SABA (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

!!!!!!!!!!HOLY ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you RUN A UMD which requires a 2.0 firmware using this shell, it will run!!!!!

   by SABA (Unregistered) - 2006-01-08

BTW, I used a PoPoLoCrois. So that means no upadate to play GTA and possibly higher firmware-requiring UMDs.
