Mega Man has always been a popular gaming franchise and it appears his jump onto the PSP platform does nothing to dispel this theory. Despite the fact many gamers can give remakes a luke warm reception, the title Mega Man Powered Up has been met with plenty of good reviews. Most of these seem to suggest the title brings something new to the franchise and even incorporates a level creator and old style and new style gameplay.

Mega Man Powered Up, is set in the near future and advances in science have helped Dr. Light and his fellow researchers develop humanoid robots designed to improve quality of life for mankind. All is going really well until an evil scientist named Dr. Wily takes control of some of these helpful robots and sets off on the usual megalomaniac styled quest to take over the planet. With Dr. Light's help, a household helper robot named Mega Man embarks on a mission to restore peace to the world.

  • Gamespot (8.5/10) Powered Up may be yet another remake of an old Mega Man game for the PSP, but it also happens to be the best one, both in terms of the original game it's based on, and the amount of extra content it provides. There's more than enough valid reason to go back and play through Powered Up's levels multiple times.
  • 1UP (8.5/10) It's easy to forget why Mega Man was considered a top-tier franchise 20 years ago on NES, and Powered Up provides a much-needed reminder. No doubt we'll all be sick of it by the time Powered Up 6 rolls around, but you can hardly hold Capcom's inevitable future sins against what amounts to one of the most addictive PSP games to date.
  • Gamezone (9.1/10) Remakes are often looked down upon in the industry, and for usually good reasons, but what Powered Up brings to the creative table should serve as a training manual for other developers who wish to follow suit. Nearly every aspect of this game is perfect, and despite its historic roots, becomes a 'must own,' not only for Mega Man fans, but for every PSP owner out there.

1st Comment!!! The game would be cooler if he didn't have a huge head.

Its a Chibi Style anime based game.. go look that up if you have the time to poke at his head.. overall i agree with the ratings this game got, not only addictive but you can create your own levels to bring on the fun with friends and family!

 » love it

great great games, beats MHX in terms of replay value.
in terms of graphics,it seems that megaman's style "grew up" as the series progressed, the grapchis for this game don't differ mych from the style of the first 6 games of the series and then 7,8,Bass all took a more older approach as it grew closer to the X storyline.

 » I love this game

The create-a-level feature clearly shows the detail put into this game. You can play as all the robot masters, Rockman, Megaman, Roll, Protoman. This game has 10 times more content then MHX. Powered up is a must buy for fans of the series and people who love to create boards and share them thru the PSPs internet(online).

They're only really noticeable in the artwork. In-game however, they're actually quite good and express the emotions of the characters quite well when they're hurt, tired, slipping and what not. That, and Megaman had a huge head in the NES version as well.

if you REALLY have a downgrader send it to the pspupdates staff.

I for one know you are just messing around(most likely trying to brick PSPs) but in the event that it is a real downgrader please give details as to who developed it and what is it using to downgrade (Tiff exploit ect.)
