In addition to the latest screens posted by us here at QJ recently, the first trailer has emerged for the inventive puzzle game Mercury Meltdown. In this sequel to Mercury, you play a liquid blob trying to maneuver yourself through a series of complex mazes. Updated features in this sequel include twice as many stages, a free-look camera, new modes in multiplayer, game sharing capabilities, custom skins and downloadable content.

The trailer showing here, features the gameplay set in a very colourful, vibrant and vivid cartoon-style environment.

Mercury Meltdown is set to be released on the PSP later this year.

This owuld be great but the psp's loading times will turn it into a frustation.

 » First was great

I'm not too sure I like how they moved into cell shading but its looking to be as good if not better than the first. I only hope that its longer this time around.

 » lame...

This is a step backward. The series originally appeal people because of the nice looking "blob". Now that's done away with, it's lame looking...

If the first fails to impress with gameplay, this looks to be more of the same: frustration.... minus the pretty graphic of the blob = step backward.

 » Terrible

This looks terrible. Mercury was cool because of the realistic physics and the good looking blob. Celshaded graphics will totally ruin this.

» I WANT TO PUNCH ARCHER IN THE FACE.

For ruining a perfect game for me. For so long I've been waiting for a PSP game that I'm INTERESTED in, and finally I hear about Mercury: Meltdown. First of all, Mercury was the reason I bought a PSP, because it was supposed to have a tilt sensor and also the graphics.

And now THIS CRAP. WTF, after waiting so god damn long for a GOOD game, they finally have a trialer, and it looks like *****.

The Trailer Looks Awsome, And i admit i was drawn to the first one by the graphics, but were would the world get if everything stayed the same.

I have the first one, and it was good for a while, soon got boring, this one looks more "FUN" rather than brain bashing, hours of entertainment, dont judge a book/game by its cover.

 » Fools

One thing that all these people saying 'THE GRAPHICS SUX, THEY F***ED IT UP!' or whatever, you obviously didn't read the part about 'custom skins'. One of the custom skins in the game will be the classic art style from Archer Maclean's Mercury...

Yeah, and now you all look like fools (except for the odd few) for commenting on the graphics and saying they suck. If all you care about is the graphics, go get an Xbox 360 and live it up in High Definition.

Mercury is all about the crazy gameplay!

 » Does Anyone...

Does anyone feel like LocoRoco is similar to Mercury? You control a blob, you can make the blob bigger... isn't it familiar?
