Konami has released three semi-new screenshots from Kojima Productions' upcoming PSP title, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. I say semi-new since these are off the E3 2009 trailer. In any case, check 'em out below.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is scheduled for release next year.

 » Hmm.

You would think that when Kojima said PW would be unlike any other MGS so far, they wouldn't have just editted the character models from MPO, they would've maybe altered them a bit, but I guess not.

I would, however, like to know if the new digital era is going to effect release dates in a positive way. Think of it, every UMD has a simple .iso on it, and I'm sure many disc veterans and ISO enthusiasts know of the long a tedious work to burn these iso files onto discs, for thousands of copies for a release date, so if it's a digital age, then games could be released much quicker and earlier no?

Ahwell, I'm still looking forward to PW, it's great to see a new MGS that I can actually buy since I have no PS3 (wait CNR, Rising is supposed to be released on 360 as well!). Ahwell, long live the PSP! Let the reign of PSP lived on through 2009 and on to 2010!

Also, if they abandon the UMD all together they can make larger games without the inconvenience of more then one disk. Although I don't think anyone has made a multi-umd game yet.

Yeah there was a Japanese RPG that was 2 UMDs, I'm sure someone on this site knows the name. Going off by why Genotype said, I wonder how long it would take a PSP to download a file that's roughly 2 gigs.

You can download on your PC you know, thats what Media Manager is for.

If Sony really wants to push PSP-go and downloadable PSP games, than they should release an emulator for PS3 as well. If would be a huge incentive if you could play PSP games on your PS3 as well as transfer them to your PSP-Go and play on the road.

@CityNightRush117:
Do you actually know how original game, movie or music discs are produced? You really think that they all get burned?!

These discs get pressed in a huge factory. Burning them would not only be a way too tedious and expensive task, but would also render many copy prodections useless.

See wikipedia for info:

This is just for CD's, but I think you get the point.

whats the point in having a PSP?

and i think itll be far too easy to bypass whatever sony has brewing even IF something like that would ever happen

I'm aware of how discs are produced, I'm talking about why in the hell they stuffed the comp-lete ISO directly onto the disc. disc speeds are terrible compared to digital speeds, so if this digital age means direct downloading, then we're saving alot of time in production not only disc-wise, but the process of stuffing those ISOs onto that slow disc. It doesn't matter how small the disc is, digital speeds are always faster unless you have A: dialup, or B: a crappy PC in the beginning.

However, I AM unaware of the process they take to place the game data ONTO the disc, not how the disc itself is produced. I'm thinking it's just like standard disc-burning where a disc is placed into a re-writable drive, the data is transferred onto the disc, and it is ejected like you would an MP3 disc or a DVD, but then again it's UMD so who knows.

It doesn't take long from the product going Gold Master to being released at retail. In most cases you're talking 3-7 days.

And it's not a good idea to fully rely on digital downloads. Case in point: I found a bunch of my classic GB games last year and I'm loving going through them again. If they were DD games then they would need authorising with a server, if that server is no longer there (hi Dreamcast) then the game is unplayable.
No thanks. I'll stick to DD for my PC games and a few Wiiware/PSN/XBLA stuff. But incase Steam ever goes down I'll just replace the .exe's with cracked ones and carry on playing no problem at all :).

In short - don't rely on DD. Ever. It's a nice easy way to be fudged over by the developer or publisher.

I thought Metal Gear Acid was terrible.
Metal Gear Acid 2 didn't interest me.
Portable OPS is better but not much.

Let me know if there's a decent PSP metal gear.

First of all, if we had interest in the new patch or any new updates, we would've already have surfing around to other sites and find it. Not only is that off-topic and has nothing to off or discuss about this jump, but it's a scam and people already know since this site really is slow on updates.

I've never looked forward to a game more than this. Not MGS4, not Smash Bros Brawl, not L4D or any of the HL2 episodes.
I'm not even that big a fan of MGS to start with but it's just pulling me toward it! Let go of me D: you're too far off release!
