Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is a brand new Metal Gear Solid game for the PSP set six years after Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater as Naked Snake (aka Big Boss) establishes FOXHOUND in an attempt to hunt down the treacherous FOX unit, which has started a bloody revolt in South America. The game is set in 1970 and will be the missing link in the ongoing Metal Gear saga. Using an intuitive new third-person camera that is optimised for handheld play, gamers will be able to see more of Snake's surroundings, identifying threats while also targeting the best areas for sneaking and hiding. It is good to see that the PSP will get it's own Metal Gear game instead of just a port and it should hold us over until MGS 4 comes out. Go ahead and check out the screenshots from Snake's newest adventure by clicking on the thumbnails.

 » Awesome.

You can tell its a psp title by the graphics, but they also look good enough to be a PS2 title as well! The characters look VERY well designed for a PSP game, not unbelievable though, kind of how FF7: Crisis Core looks even waaay above PS2 GFX standards. MGA was pretty good too, though I hated snakes suit on the 2nd one, and was disappointed that I had to use cards to control Snake, but was still happy since it was MG related. I don't think many people would be as calm as they were when MGA2 released as if they made a 3rd one. Overall I'm very excited for this game. Getting bored with the ones I have now.

I am stoked about this game. I'm just hoping that we only get ONE version of this game this time as opposed to the normal one and then the BETTER version that seems to happen on the PS2. So many good games comin out and most of the ones I want are on PSP!

» This game forced me to buy a second PSP...

I'm one of those people who can't live without emulators and homebrew, and also a very devoted MG fan...since the old NES original....So, this game was the one that made me save up for a second PSP...well, this one...and Tekken & FF:Crisis Core...

I hope none of them dissapoint.
