We are family!!

MGS fans look like they still have a whole lot to look forward to, as revealed in a recent podcast by PlayStation Magazine (different from Official PlayStation Magazine or OPM)">PlayStation Magazine (their FIRST podcast, actually).

This newly-launched podcast series is hosted by Playstation Magazine's Executive director Randy Nelson and Kojima Production's Assistant Producer Ryan Payton. PSM decided to start this new endeavor with a bang by having Ryan clue everyone in on plans for an MGS: Portable Ops sequel as well as the future direction of the MGS series over the course of a 37-minute program.

Though Payton will be as close as we can get to the source for now (which is pretty darned close), we can't help but get giddy over this tasty promise that they're dangling in front of everyone. Now, all we have to wait for would be word from Hideo Kojima himself before we pop the champagne.

MG:PO was the first metal gear I ever actually beat and it was a hell of a great experience. Now I'm interested in playing all the metal gears since this has to be one of the best gaming series ever created. I don't want to go to my grave without having fully explored it. More of this brilliant stuff would be very welcome.

MGS3: Snake Eater is the prequel of PO, but it's just as a great game!

goody goody. A sequal would be nice because there's still a large gap from PO and the first MG that needs to be filled up.

 » They should

Maybe this time they will get it right, fix the useless camera angles in MGS PO, fix the dumb AI who do nothing when you are right in front of them and are too dumb to look for you underneath sucpicious boxes in the middle of nowhere. If they are going to do a sequel, maybe this time round they might want to make it a REAL Metal Gear title instead of some watered down 2 min go from point A-B or blow up one car mission. What they should do is something like Metal Gear for the Psx on the Psp with a different storyline, full 3D like PO and no recruiting. Just because it is a portable they don't need to simplify missions and make it 2 min missions. They should make it in depth and realise that some play the portables like a console and want lots of depth, hell we have a standby mode or just add more saves. Metal Gear on the Psx allows you to save at any time and I have been playing this on the Psx Psp emulator, it makes PO look like childsplay. Having said that, I still enjoy some aspects of PO so im still glad they made it.

I disagree, I think the PSP version should be kind of short (I mean it IS portable ops), but I usually spend forever like half an hour on each mission before finishing it. The last mission I've done was the one where I meet the girl (Elisa I think it was) and it took me like an hour, which is more than I wanted to spend, but I didn't wan't to quit after I had played so long :/ I love this new strategy-sneaking game and I'm glad Kojima didn't just make another MGS game that's basically the same as all the other ones, they made a completely new and original game that rocks!

» this game is friggin' great!

I really hope a sequel is on the way. Even though I am only about 1/2 way finished with mpo, I think it is the best gaming experience on ANY system, not only handhelds!( and, yes, I do have gears of war and the wii, but this games blows them away.)

 » NES remakes

Yeah... Like someone said, why can't they make NES remakes? Remakes of MGS and MGS 2 on NES... I don't like those games... It lacks graphics, dramatics (well... it's not the same as PS/PS2 MGS's) and cinematics, and that's what I LOVE with MGS... I havn't completed either of them, so it would be really nice.

But a whole new game wouldn't be all that bad either =)

» i need to play all mgs games...

i am just about to finish MGS PO and it rocks. I may just be brave enough to say it's the best gaming experience i have ever have. I really want to play the PS1 MGS but it would take too long to download and plus i don't want to pirate since this is the best series ever. I downloaded the first two NES games for an emulator but was wondering if the PS1 game is easy to find on ebay and if it is still possible to pick up the PS2 MGS games from Fry's or EB games or something like that. I just gotta play all these games.

 » MGS PSX

You can get this title from Ebay, then you can rip it using Alcohol or CloneCD and convert it to popstation format. The game is very different to MGS PO and makes that title look real easy. The psx version will have you crawling through narrow passageways following rats in the hope to find an exit, hiding underneath tanks, sneaking around avoiding security cams, soldiers with genetically enhanced hearing and guard dogs. One level you have to get a dog to urinate on you so you don't get killed by the others. I am getting carried away now so I will stop there, this is one to definately get and it is nothing like MGS PO, in this one you are really on your own in the field although you have radio help and some flirtatious women to give you advice.

 » maybe...

I dont think there would be a sequel to mgs portable ops..coz already it takes out the juice from the psp....most probably there would be a digital comic of mgs..based on the story line of mgs2..coz i read it some where that a new digi comic is on the way...thats all speculation may be..yeah i know...but who knows if am right...lets wait and see...and last but not the least mgs series is and has always been the best...on behalf of all mgs fans.....KOJIMA U RULE!!
