Hideo Kojima, creator of the famed Metal Gear series, is admitting that he does feel the intense pressure from people for him to continue with it, even when Solid Snake has already been technically retired in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots .

MGSTo many a gamer, the name David Hayter rings a bell. Most of us would know him as the voice behind Solid Snake in the MGS series. But he's also got his screenwriting career under his belt (X-Men, Watchmen). In this video interview, he reveals that Hollywood politics may have blasted his chances for penning the MGS movie, however, he's looking rather optimistic.

SnakeIt's quite natrual how some media would borrow elements from other media these days. Some movies, for example, take a lot from mythology. As such, video games borrow lots of elements from movies as well, and the Metal Gear Solid series is no exception. Check out the full article for Kojima's top picks, and reasons how and why these movies made the cut.

Kojima Plans to be Very Involved with Metal Gear Solid Movie - Image 1We don't hear a lot of updates regarding the Metal Gear Solid movie (there's a movie?), so I figured fans would appreciate hearing this bit of news. Creator Hideo Kojima not only intends to be "very involved" with the movie, he is also considering the possibility of a video game tie-in.

MGS teaser - Image 1Oooh, what a tease. MGS5, is that you? Konami Japan's just put up a site with a flashing message. It alternates between their logo and a green equation with text that reads: "A next Metal Gear is..." There seems to be a bit of Engrish there, but one startling bit (yeah, man, I can totally feel that big red exclamation mark pop above my head now...!) is that the little equation they have there is giving off some Xbox 360 vibe.

MGS Portable Ops - Image 1While the newer PSP Slim and PSP-3000 may have its own issues and, uh, "features," you can't deny that the Phat has remained tried and tested through the ages. Here's a chance of bagging a PSP-1000 unit - and it's not just your run-off-the-mill Phat either: it's the MGS: Portable Ops Camouflage Limited Edition PSP which was released in Japan some two years ago. Someone in eBay is selling one these rare gems - 100% brand new, never opened, and all that eBay fanfare.

Courage is SOLID - Image 1Konami has filed an intriguing new label for their Metal Gear franchise, and it's called "Metal Gear Solid Existence". Time to cast in your bets! Is it a new game? Does it follow events after Guns of the Patriots - or just an enhanced edition much like MGS3: Subsistence? Could it be the title of that MGS feature-length movie they keep talking about?

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Konami PS3 - Image 1It's quite sad that the Japanese won't be having a launch party in honor of Konami's opus, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, but for those who live in the US, the show must go on. Konami Online's Brandon Laurino announces the schedule of the Metal Gear Solid launch events for three locations, and you can check them out in the full article.
