Metal Gear Solid - Image 1

If these new ESRB listings prove to be correct, we may be seeing Solid Snake again on the PS3. It won't be Old Snake, though, but Metal Gear Solid-era Snake, and he'll even be bringing along pre-steroids Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from before she had a dye job.

Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil: Director's Cut are only two of five new PSOne Classics spotted recently in an ESRB listing. The remaining three are Spec Ops: Covert Assault, Spec Ops: Ranger Elite, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

If MGS does make it to the PSN, I hope they eventually add VR Missions too. No dates or official confirmation yet, but I really expect an announcement that focuses on PSOne Classics during E3. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Who here doesn't already have those on their PSP.. lol Sony playing catchup! I love how many people complain that they want FF7 for their PSP and I have had it for a few years now.

What about those who want it on their PS3 hard drive? I like having PS1 games readily available on the drive and being able to play them both on my PS3 and PSP, copying over the save files when I head out or return home. I'd certainly pay for Metal Gear Solid on the PS Store and dammit Sony Europe give us Symphony of the Night and (for my gf) Spyro the Dragon. Yeah I put them on my PSP (well, Spyro anyways, as currently I'm using the Dracula X Chronicles version of Symphony on PSP) but I would like to have them officially and on the PS3.

Are the PS1 games upscaled because I also would like to have this game even though I do have it for the PSP?

Article doesn't mention the PSP.

Also, £15?

Glad to know that you might have some money left over for food otherwise you'd starve huh?

@ Serosis

it's pretty common knowledge all ps1 classics on the psn can be played on both the ps3 and psp...pretty slow on the uptake huh?

» i dont know about mgs

on the copy ive got it could be a bad rip but there is a problem with the sound and it is jerky unless i boost speed to 333 from default 222
it seems to me unless they alter code it wont be worth it
and people dont forget there are pirates out there and software to remove limit so one copy could be used between hundreds of people with no consequnces

Let me know. I have two broken/stolen PSP's registered on my PSN account and I cannot remove them. So now I can only use one of my PSP's since my G/F uses both of hers. Ive looked and have found absolutely NOTHING that even claims to get around the system registration for PSN downloads.

But however will we be able contact Meryl without the CD game case to tell us the codec to contact her at!?! Will they dare modify the sacred work of Mr Hideo Kojima for this downloadable version of the game to work? Otherwise you could just cycle though every stupid channel til you get to her.
