Minna No Golf Portable 2 - Image 1

It all started nearly a decade ago when Camelot published the first Minna no Golf for the PlayStation. Since then a storm of sequels on various platforms have followed. The latest handheld version of the series coming to the PSP features more cartoony golfing fun in Minna no Golf Portable 2.

While the title of the game may not be familiar to most people, gamers may recognize it under its locally translated title, Hot Shots Golf. Whatever you may want to call it, the teaser site Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has set up for it has new content depicting the new characters, game modes and courses the new handheld game will sport.

The entire site is mostly in Japanese, however the English translated menu at the bottom is easy enough to understand and navigate through the different sections added recently. Thankfully, if you've played one golf game you don't really need to understand a whole lot of text to go through the game.

Minna no Golf Portable 2 is set to be released in Japan this December. Hopefully, we'll be seeing its local incarnation under the name Hot Shots Golf Portable 2 (or whatever the local publishers deem to call it) reaching our shores sometime soon. In the meantime, go ahead and check out their website through the read link below.

For some reason or another, Japan loves the exciting world of whacking golf balls and walking long distances. Sony's Hot Shots Golf, or Minna no Golf in Japan, continues to experience smashing success and it's on its way to the Sony PSP once more. Minna no Golf Jou Vol. 2, the sequel to what we know as Hot Shot Golfs: Open Tee (Minna no Golf Portable in Japan), is coming this December. As a start, here's a trailer packed with super-deformed goodness.

The video lasts less than a minute, but enough to show us how nice Minna no Golf Jou Vol. 2 looks thanks to the cutesy art style mixed with a pinch of realism. Minna no Golf Jou Vol. 2's backdrop is nothing phenomenal, but the music coupled with eye-pleasing greenery make for a relaxing atmosphere. After watching the video game in action, you'd be tempted to go strolling where there are thick rows of trees.

Before you smack us with your woods and irons for talking too much, we'll just leave you with the video embedded below.

Minna no Golf Portable 2 - Image 1Armchair (and passenger's seat) golfers rejoice - the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Sony's Minna no Golf for the PSP is getting a sequel, and this time it's bigger, cuter and filled with more bunker-blasting fun than ever. This little bit of joy comes directly from the good people over at Famitsu, with a full-color scan to prove it!

And before you ask, no, it's not another GPS chapter - it's a full-blown sequel, with tons of new content and gameplay squeezed into that little UMD of superdeformed golfing fun.
We're not sure about the full details on what's new with this sequel, but what we caught is that it's going to have 20 characters, 12 courses and a whopping 350 custom accessories. That's a lot of kit to customize your own golfer!

Not only that, you'll be able to take a goodly-sized tee-off party with you on the course of your desire - around the tune of 16 players' worth, via infrastructure mode. Better get to practicing those hole-in-ones, eh?

Minna no Golf Portable 2 is penciled in for release sometime in December. FORE!
