If you were a kid during the 80s, chances are you've tried yelling ala Optimus Prime "Autobots, transform and roll out!" [insert morphing sound here]. The original cartoon series has such a huge following that modern-day producers have now ventured into making a movie and a game based from the series' mecha lore.

Straight from Seibertron, we now have news of more game details for Transformers: The Game. Them lucky folks from the said site managed to catch a glimpse of the game via Hasbro preview at ToyFair and they've noted some very interesting details. Please do remember that this list was made by Seibertron (told you we got it straight from them) and thus should not be taken as official.
  • There will be an Autobot Game and a Decepticon Game for Nintendo DS, supporting 4 way multi-play.
  • The PSP will a version of the game (maybe different from all), but with 4 way Multi-Play.
  • Wii will get special Wiimote functions, such as throwing things, steering, etc.
  • You can play as 9 Autobots and Decepticons. Unplayable characters are going to be boss characters or other important characters.
  • There will be unlockable characters and possibly movie characters that don't appear in the movie (like Wreckage).
  • There will be G1 references in the game.
  • It has a full interactive environment where you can pick things up and throw it at the enemy...including a Burger King sign.
  • Burger King and Pepsi references were in the game, so we know they are sponsors.
  • As the robot you can punch, shoot, jump, transform at will and drive/fly around when you are in vehicle mode.
  • Autotargeting will be available.
  • For game play, it reminded me of Grand Theft Auto, where you can run around the city (perspective was similar to GTA). The steering of the vehicle looked well done, where you could oversteer around turns, etc. If you caused too much ruckus the police would come and the pedestrians would go around screaming, especially if you were in Robot Mode (so being in disguise is important). Pedestrian interaction was not completed yet, but we were hoping you could pick up people and thrown them.
  • Storyline is different based upon if you are an Autobot or a Decepticon, humans are part of the story, but not part of the gameplay. Because of the dual roles the Decepticons can win in this one.
This Activision-published title for the PS3, 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, and NDS is set to land/dock/park on retail stores sometime during the third quarter of this year. We just can't wait to see Optimus, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Starscream, Megatron, the Insecticons, the Dinobots...ok, geek mode off.

"Wii will get special Wiimote functions, such as throwing things, steering, etc."

Aren't people already throwing the Wiimote into their TV before they release another bad activision gta clone tie in based on what probably going to be another typically bad Michael bay clunker.

If the makers of the true crime series and pearl harbor
isn't enough to get you excited the product placement is already is taking up two bullets should.

Well you're not going to see them. Bay has *****ed with the designs so much if you were shown pictures with no names you probably couldn't guess who any of them are.

Its so stupid they can't just leave it alone thinking they can alter it making it look cooler but instead awkward, unfamiliar and tacky.

If this game was suppose to be based on the original and they changed the design this game deserves to fail. If you put a cheesy ninja mask and furry boots on batman you can't call him The orginal batman. If you change the design on any of the transformers you cant call them the original transformers.

 » Sigh not again...

That's the thing - it ISN'T based on the original series. You all should get that in your heads. It's an original take of the TF franchise. A retelling of sorts.

WTF! this thread is about TF and not CP so why
all the referances to CP? Wasn't Tom Cruze the
original voice for CP? I know alot of you here are ADHD to the extream but try to keep focused, we are talking about TF here people not some other cartoon series so keep it on topic.

 » DAMN

THEY SHOULD MAKE A Beast Wars Transformers GAME!! WOW!!!! not this 80s *****.

Re: Wicked Insider (Unregistered) - 2007-02-11
 » I agree to a degree...

Yes they should make a BW but you can't knock the original 80's TF, if it weren't for the 80's TF we wouldn't have BW so be mindfull when you talk about make this but don't make that because it what?, sucks? I thinks nada! The originals ownz over all series that has come after it.

Re: Dat Phan (Unregistered) - 2007-02-11
 » Oye Vey

Beast Wars was one of the worst TF spinoffs. They had a transforming Rat with an Italian accent... AND he of course played the wise guy. Which meant they had geeks in production trying to write in stupid one liners through out the show.

Oh And Megatron was a Funking purple dinosaur..... they might as well of threw in transformering telitubbies while they were making that P.O.S.

It's Cybertron....

Re: Wicked Insider (Unregistered) - 2007-02-11
 » Not really misspelled...

Here's why, Seibertron is the code name of the person revealing the intell and not ment as the original name of the TF planet we all know as Cybertron. I was thinking the same as you however but again, it's the name of a member of another forum or just is code/screen name atleast.

They need to have a PSP TRANSFORMER in the game, just make sure you ask my permission first, as I have the first and only PSP transformer likeness.
