Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes - Image 1

Finally, the first screenshots from Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes have made their way to the Internet. Not only that, 1UP also managed to get a first look at the game, and we've got the details right here for you guys. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes is the latest fighting game for the popular anime and manga series. It's a reworking of the Japanese title Naruto: Narutimate Hero Portable. (Thanks to everyone who commented and pointed out this blogger's mistake).

The gameplay here is reportedly a "King of Fighters-style team battle mode (three-on-three)." Players will be free to pick their own team from the 20 characters available in the game, and players will also be able to upgrade their team members' individual abilities like attack and speed. These created profiles can then be sent to other PSPs via local Wi-Fi connections.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes also has an interesting skill system that can give characters new skills based on who else is in their team. Think combo attacks from Suikoden 2 and the Ino-Shika-Cho attack from the series. An example is if you choose to put two rivals together in one team, you may end up getting a devastating new attack.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes is currently slated for a late summer release. In the meantime, check out the first screenshots from the game below.

 » Umm,

"Interestingly, this PSP title is coming to the U.S. first, and no Japanese version has been announced just yet. "

I dunno about that. All but one of the screenshots there look exactly identical to "Nultimate Hero Portable", the PSP Naruto Fighting game in japan. I'm guessing they're just now porting it, and giving us the 3v3 as an extra.

 » ?

they are identical, look at the names and everything,
it's all in japanese.

Quite weird for a game that hasn't appeared in japan eh ? All of the screens are from the old japanese naruto game. Xcept for the 3vs3

 » yeah

it looks exactly like it. i wonder if they'll have the little board game from single player. i've always wondered what the dialog actually said.

 » Almost Right

The 3vs3 was in Narutimatte Portable, remember?
You selected three people in story mode and you then fought one on one, until someone died, and you picked someone else in your trio.

The game remains unchanged, except the name has changed, and the game translated.

   Re: Gaffmiester (Unregistered) - 2007-04-11
 » Not really

Yeah in story mode there was three people in your team but they make it look as if theres actually 3 people fighting against 3 people, which doesnt happen in the game.

 » Hmmm

In short this game is good but the story sucks just like the Anime series Filler episodes that aired awhile back.... and all the specials in this game sucked!! I rather see the specials from the PS2 version "Naruto Narutimate 3".. for example, Naruto's Kyuubi Rasengan, he transforms into the Kyubbi after the special, unlike this game, where u only c red chakra, boo!

If they are reworking do you think that put more ougis(or special moves) for indiuvisual play instead of one.
Also if they do i wander if they will also the the button commands when the special moves start.(during the cutscene)

 » Clueless?

Everyone complaining this game is exactly like the japanese game are the people who are clueless.... Ofcourse this is like the japanese game like most games they get released in japan first then translated and brought to the US and if we're very lucky even in Europe... this is no different from any other big japanese title. The 3vs3 is in the story mode indeed but it's not possible to make teams in vs play in the japanese version wich might be the case in this one. Like myself I think most people here download and play the iso's so it's not that big of a deal for you guys but for people who watch the show with the Dattebayo fansubs and who live in either the US or Europe it's nice to have an English version of the game or that you don't have to import it cause believe it or not some people still play the original umd's. Everyone whining about this is just a wanker this happens to every japanese game get over it...
