Completely agree with you there, NFS 3 was awesome, then they went all underground with CHEESY AS HELL stories... This is an obvious example, I mean who wrote this trash!??
For stupid kid gangsta wannabes who think its cool to be gangster (even though its sooo cheesy!) ... the last nfs game (most wanted) COULD have been really good, but they messed that, as with most their games. - Get the writer for the original Road RAsh or something... EA- personal message, your games sucked since NFS3! ! (oh , except battlefront 2!)

Unless, of course, you've played any of the last few NFS games, and then you'd see it's nothing new at all.
I have to agree with EmuChicken... The stories are pretty doggone cheezy. But why say they ruin the game? You don't have to pay any attention to them. Just race.

Yeah, I suppose it doesnt really "ruin" the game, but for people who really like to get into the game, will require a story or an alterior motive to continue.
As in EA's recent racers, they do the mistake with adding "catch-up" on EVERYTHING... they also give the cars the most stupid "upgrades" which mostly just come down to making the car look "cool". With this said, theyre usually all locked until you beat some dude, and THEN you can buy it (provided you have the cash) - now compare this to Gran Turismo... You can get anything you want provided you have the cash... - and most the improvements actually do stuff.

ok we all liek customizing our cars yes NS3 WAS AMAZING and sure story line sux but over all ahving the chance to customize ur car own paint etc is fun

I like the underground series ok and the Most Wanted series is even better. I think sometimes though it can be cheesy but I like the improvements since Underground having the police give chase and also the new game for the PSP seems better but still limited in alot of area's from it's console counterpart. I enjoyed the PS3 trailer for Need For Speed Carbon. It's pretty cool how the car morphs when you change things. Very next gen affects for a home console.
