NJ has updated his NeoGeo CDZ Emulator for PSP to version v0.1 beta 8. NeoGeo CDZ Emulator for PSP is a port of NJ’s own NeoGeo CDZ Emulator for Windows. NJ has been working hard on this emulator these days. Changelog of the new version:

Neogeo_cdz_emulator_0201– 0.1 beta 8

  • Back memory read/write problem fixed. Thanks for reporting
  • New font completed, user interface renewal underway. I’m planning to use anti-alias and shadow process for font (and icon). I was think of using graphic unit of the PSP, but it seems the software can do fast enough. Dialog is not completed, still using very old UI (50% completed). There will be no updates until it is completed, and the version number will be 0.1. But it won’t be an official version still.

The neo geo (cd) was an arcade style unit.It plays authentic arcade games that weren't meant to be saved. It would be nice to work your way bit by bit through metal slug, but if he wants to preserve the arcade feel and not include a state save I respect that.

Well, I understand that, but the PSP is a portable unit, and saving would definitely be a help when you are on the go. I think save states are especially important for these portable versions of the games.

Why can't the user decide if he wants the authentic feel (and just not save)?

Doesn't the other Neocd emulator have savestates? How does this emu compare to neocdpsp?
