There's a new DS on the market today. But before you go thinking, "What? The DSi just came out!" it's not what you think it is. It's not from Nintendo, but instead is from Chinavasion. DS is the name, short for "Delightfully Small". Nintendo probably won't be too fond of this new gadget, we're sure.
Anyhow, what this "Delightfully Small" gadget does is to provide you with an emulator of all your favorite classic 80s video games, like Nintendo, Sega, Neo-Geo and Capcom. This handheld comes with the portable emulator, CVFH-N0304G, complete with proper control pad and buttons. And it's got 4 GB internal memory to boot, with a display of 2.8" at 320 x 240 resolution! But emulating games is not all that this gadget does. It also serves as a media player, letting you play your favorite videos and music just by using a mini-SD card. It's currently priced at 64.77 Euros (US$ 86.79) each. For more details, just follow the source link below. |

Now they're ripping off other chinese handhelds?
I seem to remember the Dingoo A-320 looking and operating the exact same way as this.

» exactly, m3rox
you're exactly right, I remember the dingoo too. this might be the same thing, just released under a name more friendly to the english speaking mass.
or another hopeless knock off.

» It sure does... in the pics
The pics look nice, envious even, but the final product is likely much less attractive in reality. The Chinese industry/government doesn't have a great great track record for holding true to promises, or have you never bought anything from Hong Kong or read reports of post Olympics human rights abuses?

» Wow..
Wow, I'd actually like to get one of these but it fails to answer some questions. The complete lack of specs makes me a nonbeliever that it will work with 100% emulation of all snes games (Mario RPG, Kirby Super Star, DBZ Hyper demension).
Another thing I'd like to know is if it could somehow play multiplayer with people who happen to have one of these devices.
But being about to do audio recording and record FM radio is always a huge plus. I hope to see more details about this product.

» Same=good?
If it's based on the same hardware and o.s as the Dingoo A-320 and the dozens of others, then i think it's a good thing, because there's a slow growing homebrew community and it's good to have a well developed o.s with a good selection of hardware to choose from.

Meh, I'm not all that experienced with these, but I would wait for the Pandora to come out instead

» I HAVE THIS!
I have this on psp already, its called "emulators" it allows you to play old games, now the new "Ds" is doing that also, psp will be best though. With 333mhz-DUAL-CORE processor, 64MB RAM and a good graphic card (for handhelds) it wont be beat by the "DS" lmfao. Only thing DS wins for is size, which is small

NES (Nintendo Entertainment System - 8bit)
- SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System - 16bit)
- Sega Genesis (Sega Mega-Drive - 16-bit)
- GBA (Nintendo Game Boy Advance)
- Neo-Geo (SNK Neo-Geo)
- CPS1 and CPS2 (CAPCOM, arcade game systems, 1st and 2nd edition)
This is what the "DS" can emulate, the funny part is that the psp can also.

» My precious!
I dunno why people are complaining about this being pointless because the other handhelds can already do it, this is the kind of thing you can just keep in your pocket and not worry about damaging your precious Psp.

» Meh!
People are better off hacking their psps if they want to emulate previous generation platforms. It's either that or you can buy a Pandora.

Looks like a bunch of devices melted into one!
-XMB-like interface
-DS buttons and color
-iPod-like charger block
-PSP-like power switch
At least it has built-in memory... and SD slot, and it can play the usual formats, and has a radio...
meh.

» I've seen things like this
in the Philippines, probably straight from China, and they're really cheap.. Well, most of them are. Flimsy and can take about as much damage as a jewel CD case. But this is probably one of the more useful Chinese things haha maybe I'll pick one up this summer

If Nintendo made this (in China) and sold it here they would charge $130. Oh wait they do.
