Gamers in Japan got an eyeful of Final Fantasy overload as Square Enix released a new trailer for Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The familiar cast of heroes and villains all make a comeback on this PlayStation Portable fighting game, with a lot of hardcore cinematic and in-game action to hype up the latest Final Fantasy title.

While the new trailer doesn't explain some minor plot issues, like why Sephiroth always appears in front of a flaming backdrop or why the villains decided to band together in the first place, it does show off a lot of flashy cinematics between our favorite Final Fantasy characters.

Here's the real kicker behind the new trailer: the end of video confirms the Japanese release date of the game by the end of the year. While there's been no word of when Dissidia: Final Fantasy will be released in North America, we're pretty sure it won't be very far behind.

Anyway, we won't keep you from watching the trailer any longer. We hope you enjoy this Final Fantasy crossover of epic proportions.

 » ff6

it is possible, although not likely, that they left ff6 out altogether.
On the other hand, they are probably just hiding those characters to get us even more psyched!!
Bu I saw Sephiroth fighting Squall, that was enough for me for now :)

» the last scene was cool

i thought it was cool when Tidus used the Jecht shot to give Zidane a boost.
and then there was Squall vs Sephiroth.

To see how this actually turns out. Square Enix always pulls through though. By the way, I think that was the coolest Tidus ever looked throughout his entire life.

i hope they put it on two UMDs. I rather swap UMDs than having stripped down version of a game.
