Buy.com, the 'Internet Superstore' has a new product on display, in the form of another Value Pack for the PSP. Sony is set to release this 'Entertainment Pack' for US$249.99 on September 20th and will include:
All in all, it isn't a bad deal I guess, considering that the standard 'Value Pack' comes with some fairly poor accessories (Soft Case, 32MB Memory Stick Pro Duo). In any case, judging from current individual pricing of what is included, you could just about say you're getting ATV and Lords of Dogtown for free ... next best thing to a price drop I suppose!

Would make a very nice X-Mas gift.

Sony should release the White PSP in the U.S as part of a "White Xmas" package, a lot of people would buy that sucker up in no time.

 » hmm

You can actually choose to not have the games in the package and just buy the discounted psp on its own. They cannot force you to buy games and the reduction they will make on the price will be equivalent to the cost of both the games. It is the law and they must do this if you ask.

 » nice....

looks like you even get a little more memory for free too :D . I don't see why they don't just package the 1 gig sticks with regular packages :P . My prediction would be that they are trying to get as much money out of them before they come out with the next PSP. It's about the same thing they did with the PS1s and the slim PS2s. Who knows, maybe they'll have the PSP2 out sooon :D ( wishful thinking, I know, but a guy can dream :P ).

Ripoff was the original value pack, a 32mb memory stick and the cheapy headphones didn't make justice for the extra 50$

 » Question for 15...

So you're mad that they are offering a better deal in almost two years? Wow, sorry but what company doesn't do that? Hate to see what you will say after the price drop.

   by GODzillaSDM - 2006-08-29
» not really a great deal

you can get the basic psp on overstock for $183 after 10% off.

get a Sandisk 1GB MS Duo Pro for $25
or 2GB for $50

total is $208 and you have $42 left over to buy any game and movie you want, instead of.....

lords of dogtown...

You can probably only do this with Dealer bundled games and accessories but when it's part of the official "pack" then You probably can't.

It's a bit like saying "I don't want the charger or the battery, can you give it to me for a cheaper price please?"

   by GODzillaSDM - 2006-08-29

*edit* $176 after 12% off from overstock

you know, you guys can probably just trade in the game and the movie. get maybe $30 store credit or something, especially considering that the games are new. but then again, they probably won't come with the box.

anyway, i bought a PSP when it first launched (1.5 firmware!) only to have it stolen (or lost. in either case i was heartbroken). so a few months ago, i bought a new PSP and a 1gig pro stick duo. only to have, a week after purchase, the 2gig pro stick duo dropped to the same price as the 1 gig.

that's happened to me with a lot of my electronics purchases (especially while building my computer. i spent about $800 building my comp last year, then, a month ago, i built my fiance's computer for about $500, and it's practically the equivilant of mine). that's just the way it is. technology is always getting cheaper. no ones forcing any of us to be early adopters. *WE* choose to buy a PSP/X Box360/PS3 when it's first released, or within it's first year. don't fault the retailers and manufacturers for lowering the prices a year after the fact. would you much rather have them continue to rape people by charging full price for technology that is cheaper to produce? (yeah, like i want to pay $600 for a PS3 in three years. i accept the launch price because i know it will drop eventually. and if i can't get one at launch, by the time i can, the price may have come down).

I knew about this last week (http://JediBaja.1up.com), good to know that it is confirmed. Although I wouldn't buy it. I guess it's a good start off for late adopters

 » Back and Forth

Well, I bought a PSP used around when it first came out, 200 or so dollars, my friend comes over and its setting on top of my ps2 and he decides to take it for like a whole week. He sells it to a pawn shop (we all know what he did with the money) and tries to tell me that he didn't steal it, when my parents caught him walking out the door with empty game cases. And before the PSP had launched I bought a Nintendo DS, I gave that to my brother, then bought my first psp, that got stolen then months later after deciding. I finally had to buy another one, for about half the price (from a friend). And just recently, I bought another DS off of Ebay, for about 2/3's the price. So in total I've bought 2 Nintendo DS's and 2 PSP's and only have 3 of the 4 systems. But anywho, PSP is better than DS or any Nintendo handheld, just lack of games. Can't wait for MGS PORT OPS, thats going to be good. Only problem with psp, is lack of R1,R2, etc. Maybe they could add that on a PSP2... now thats looking into the future.

Ahh, you may be very correct. Even still it would be worth investigating further.
