Wired News reports that Sony is shifting its marketing focus for the PlayStation Portable to the 13-17 year old demographic with a new marketing campaign titled: "Dude, Get Your Own." Why the shift? PSP Senior Product Manager John Koller explains: Most of our registered owners database stats have shown the 13-17 year old consumers far outpacing other groups in terms of purchase. The intend-to-purchase crowd is living mostly in that group as well. We're looking to expand beyond where we've been. PSP started as a device to appeal to 18-34 year-olds, but north of 26-27. That campaign clearly did not work... (it was an attempt to) identify ways of speaking and marketing to that 13-17 year-old consumer. It was an effort to be able to target that individual in a more quiet manner and not go out and promote it and have it be something that was found. The way it was done is not correct... In the future, we'll be more clear and transparent to the consumer. |

am first!!!
and how did he connect the controler to the psp
Nice, I like it.
thats great, because we're always falling short of 13-17 yos on the web asking "omgz how doo I get plyastation gamez on my psp?"
the right way.
Reminds me of the PSP2TV mod except you must have it docked to use a psp controller. Makes me want to rip my psp apart right now.
Anyone know where the housing used on this psp is from?
"The way it was done is not correct... In the future, we'll be more clear and transparent to the consumer."
guess they missed that point when they designed ps3 comercials huh?
You're telling me that those God awful adverts were aimed at 18-34 year olds? I know the majority of people are idiots, but come on!
fuc))k them and fuc))k you too
Finally! If $ony aims at teens, companys would make better games so that there intresting
make the PSP-Lite with an off button that works straight away (how much of my life have i wasted trying to shut down my psp?) and remove that useless "audio button" and replace it with a "sleep button".
and remove the sony start-up screen, and make the umd drive double speed. and make the batteries last 8hours +
and enable homebrew without hacking your firmware...
do all that, and i'll give you some more $$$, so everyone wins! oh, and I'll get the teens to buy it... trust me!
is it possible to connect the ps3 controller to psp :D? wireless i mean
Sony needs to wake up and realize that the adult gamer generation wants the all-in-one office blackberry mylo gaming device. From the start, Sony could have scored huge had it only made more all-encompassing communication features for the PSP. It just makes sense. The wifi, and Location Free Player, web browser, rss, video, audio, picture, is precisely in the right direction! Just not robust enough, which is why one still has to carry around a capable Ipod, a blackberry (if not separate cell phone, and palm pilot), bluetooth earpiece, and laptop.
LET'S SUMMON CAPTAIN PLANET!!!!!
EARTH!!!!
Will somebody please tell me what is the title of the background music played in the video please?
if you weren't that lazy you could search on google to discover the name of the music....*sigh*
yoshimi battles the pink robots by flaming lips
yeah, what an awesome name
TY so much, im kinda in a hurry so didnt have time to check on that.. well, the music was catchy that's why I asked..
Thanks a bunch, i'll try finding the song when I got back at home
Ciao!
Why have Sony not figured a way to use the ps2 controller instear of the psp? Yes it does mean more bulk but you would have less neck strain and play better at pro evo
pretty useless imo but cool mod and obviously took a lot of work! great job!
I like the clear faceplate and backplate more than the controller mod =p
