Homebrew New Recovery from developer kgsws - Image 1Homebrew New Recovery from developer kgsws - Image 2

There's a new recovery homebrew application that is called, well, New Recovery. It was created by coder kgsws, and QJ.Net Forum member myschoo was good enough to share it with everyone else. One good thing about this is that if you prefer the original recovery menu, you don't actually need to flash this as you can just put it in as an EBOOT.

The program itself, not the EBOOT one take note, contains the "recovery.prx" file as well as various language files such as English, Slovak, and build-in Czech. Other features include Theme Settings and on/off toggle for the XMB background. And did we mention that New Recovery can display 15 PRX modules? We didn't? Well it does (5 XMB, 5 GAME, 5 POPS).

New Recovery, like most homebrew applications, comes in with a Readme file so be sure to browse through that first. It tells how you can tinker with your PlayStation Portable's (PSP) old "recovery.prx" and even replacing its language. If you're really that nifty, you can even change the color of your original recovery menu.

Thanks ikrnboi2xi for the heads up!

STFU and talk about the app you retard. Looks cool. I'm trying it out now. I always thought someone should make this (just like people revamp the devhook menu, the recovery menu should be customized too.)

No, you can only use this on the Official 3.30 Firmware...

 » Eboot works...

But the flashable PRX did not (3.10OE-A'). I nearly perma-bricked. Holding R during boot to activate it black-screened, then would not even coldboot. Removing and reinserting battery allowed it to coldboot, then I had to use USBSSS to copy recovery_old.prx from flash, then place it on my memory stick and use IRShell to run recovery and reflash the old version. -.-

MAN! I used the PRX on 3.10 OE-A' and permanently bricked my psp :(... it wont even coldboot now or anything :( :(

 » NOT a Perma-brick

Read my comment that you replied to. Just remove and reinsert the battery, my friend, then it should coldboot. Then you can do what I did to restore the old recovery menu.

If you flash this and your PSP bricks, it's ok, you can just use recovery menu to save it!

Look at all these people who have bricked their PSP's... This stupid recovery menu does not even have any new features. All it does is make your PSP look increasingly unprofessional. You don't need to fuQin customize everything about your damn PSP.
