I dont believe that the homebrew community is going to fall for this trap. The possibilities with custom firmware out weighs a minor convenience of wifi, especially only for 6 months

STOP THE MADNESS!
second
I remember everyone loved the McDonald's hotspots for ds. Now sony has them and it's a ploy? get over yourselves.
I have to agree with you lawl, its so dumb that every new feature is a ploy to convert hombrewers. A large percent of PSP users dont use hombrew so PSP updates are all they get. Sony is just trying to give average users new updates not exactly convert people.
I think that we shall have our beloved 3.30 OE in a couple of days. The only people that sony is fooling are the noobs.
sorry dax will make a custom fw unless sogmething good is in it or compatibility with games like 3.10' hes not going to make it just for a wifi hotspot function
it DOES have extended support for psx games...
... is that Dax isn't doing anything with 3.30 because he's not interested.
I think I will be hoping for a new devhook or OE soon!
u could do this with REGULAR WIFI i get on the internet at mc donalds all the time DONT UPGRADE!!!
..yea, of course you can - anyone can connect to any unencrypted wifi hot spot. correct me if im wrong..but hotspot in mcdonalds, strabucks etc. are not free...they are run by companies like t-mobile and you have to pay for them. there are few free connection you could use in public places. this new feature allows you to connect to a t-mobile hotspot for free.
i live in the UK with an american psp, i wonder if i'll be able use the free access :P
Any and every restaurant based hot-spot is free, its a way to get people to come in and buy $hit.
ya i hope they can make a oe for it soon and maybe make it where you get more then 6 month's of wi-fi
and if any one looks at this it would be cool if yo could move around the date and time on your psp or maybe give it a new look would be nice to and make it where you can put new icons on from your psp would be awesome
I can either use a normal wi-fi spot, or I can now use one with the T-Mobile brand on it? Is there something I'm missing here? (Besides the 6 months free thing?)
T-mobile hotspots are at airports and Starbucks, etc. They require a subscription to use.
evil ploy? how small minded . its not like they r giving away 6 months of crack.
re: evil ploy? how small minded . its not like they r giving away 6 months of crack.
now that would be awesome!
I think someone will have to pay up once the 6 months are gone.
Sony has definitely given us a good deal, sure, though. T-moblie hotspots cost about $20/month
there is no fking mcdonald hotspot in NYC. great i bet a bunch of fatass are the on using this sht.
why not starbucks hotspot now they ***** works. I mean we still can use the starbucks hotspot for free hahaha this is so gay
to make a highier custom firmware you will need to fully decrypt the firmware before you can even think about one
Porno and coffee! WOOHOO!
This shows the advantages of having a mod chip
=being able to have 2 firmwares on your psp at once. OO i want that baby
It's not really like having two firmwares. You have to keep updating and downgrading(downdating). This t-mobile service is kinda useless it's the same as having normal internet. PLUS who needs internet so bad they need it on PSP and pay monthly fee
this is the stupidest ***** ive ever seen
all you need for free wifi is a brain
download wifisniffer, find a wifi connection and badaboom
and if your smart like me, you would know on WEP, most people dont change the defaults ;) social engineering = getting the wep off of the bottom of their wireless router if its a certain brand ;)
***** you sony id rather shove pointy sticks in my eyes and ass than give up iso's and homebrew. *****es
please make a custom firmware attachment update for 3.30 please
really need it
