1st post!
well i spose i wont be buying it new at EB then
S*** tries really everything to block homebrew.
I remember the interview with sony about apple, where the mentioned, that ps3 would be placed on the market as a great multimedia computer....What a joke at all, if you look on their psp policies.
Ok its speculative to say that sony forced rockstar games to patch the game for blocking the exploit, but i think they did so....
Yeah and about the modchip... Its easy to block it with all newer psps and the next hardware revision....
If sony keeps this way, then i only can say: good bye psp....
man i hope not.
Well obviously - uncontrolled exploits can lead to piracy. They are a company you know - stop being a bunch of moaning *****es.
Even homebrew is a bad thing for sony. If people can get free homebrew on their psps then they won't buy as many games and that will mean less profit for sony. And they are already making a loss for every psp they sell, so selling games is their main income.
Homebrew helps game sales too, though. Look at GTA:LCS. Already a great game, but I'm sure alot of the copies were bought with 2.XX homebrew in mind.
Blocking homebrew also makes the homebrew scene bigger. We probably don't want to give up our homebrew cabapilities if a new game asks us to upgrade, so many people are less likely to buy that game. This just leads to more Isos's and stuff.
I am fully against piracy and its fully ok to prevent it.
The sad side effect is, that piracy kills homebrew....cause of blocking everything...
Its like microsoft would prevent every office alternative to rub on the pc with the next update, cause more users writing on openoffice than on their own product. :-)
Its interesting, that the "windows hater number one" brought boot camp and allow to run the homebrew called windows on their machine :-)
S*** don´t be so rude against talented programmers, which are making your product so interesting and exciting...Homebrew advertises the psp in a good way....
i still have an old(read unpatched) version of the GTA umd, for sale on ebay, if you are interested,
its object number 104751578648

Meh its the basic progression, honestly if you didnt own gta before hand then you missed out, those who did feel special, and the whining can stop, Rockstar made a good business decision deal with it.
lol did you hear the nose thing??
XD
O MAN I CAN'T DO ***** NOW!!!
Wait a minute.....I have a 1.5!
...and so should you
Don't worry, when (or if) the modchip comes out you will all be free hopefully. Can't wait for teh actual release date I wanna see if it works.
This should have been obvious that they were going to patch the exploit. Its just like when soft modding Xboxes, you have to get the older copies of Splintercell/Mech assault/007 to use the exploit.
Nothing new. Same old cat and mouse game.
when I got my psp I buyed metal gear aicd with it and then the next day went and got burnout and then pustforce and then gta lcs I have a 2.00 and now if I ever buy another game I will ask to test it in the shop to see if it will run I use my psp many as a web bowser and to play lua games and might downgrade to play some 1.5 stuff again as I enjoyed that. Sony really have anoyed alot of people with their dumb crapy updates none of them make me want to upgrade not even the flash is so old!! I might get another psp and get a mod chip but don't know how much they cost
YOU SUCK BALLS!
"lol did you hear the nose thing??
XD"
He was cryin' ):... Poor kid...
it was only a matter of time that this would happen and yes sony sucks and probably told rockstar to do it. sadly it wont effect sony but it will effect rockstar because the only reason i bought gta was homebrew and the same with many friends of mine who have psps an have gta.and to sony: without homebrew psp is just a POS all the games cept lumines, nfs most wanted 510,daxter, and dark mirror suck(yes gta sucks) and soon im thinking of just selling my psp and buying an ipod and running linux on it to watch videos
with 2.7 firmware available for an update did sony stop the update at 2.6 b/c of dev hook or was there just not enough time
arghh!! sony can u guys please just lets us people play homebrew?!?!? if eloader still works using gta exploit, more people will buy the game....if not people wont buy...u guys sony are a bunch of stupid people who didnt think....btw can some1 teach me on how to hack??? hehe..my blood really boiling....
well that sucks, i already have gta unpatched for homebrew now. and i think that other ppl should buy gta lcs unpatched if its for homebrew. oh yeah and #17 can u run linux on any ipod? and if i wanted to watch videos on a ipod how would i do this? does it take up memory?
i am on 1.5. i do not really care too much about this but i think that sony are being arse holes by doing this. what is the harm in homebrew games and a few emulators.? it would be different if you could run iso's on it.
Holy *****.
This is the first time I see someone going through the process of starting his PSP till GTA UMD reaches ingame.
Those UMD load times sure are a b!tch.... LoL
The first loading screen here with my "backup" ISO takes only 3 seconds to load on 2GB SanDisk
Love live pira... err.. I mean personal backups ofcourse.
i had allergys, lol. btw im making a new video either today or tommoro. one with my gta booting up in his 2.6 to see if it works. then showing the 2.6 update on the gta. i promise there will be better quality
If anyone else has a copy of this version of GTA:LCS and has 1.5, will this version work with Devhook? Since it's been patched it may have diffrent writing protocals
I bought a New GTA, it patched and i am not able to run any homebrew, The new GTA has 2.6 Patch on it :-(
WTF is rong with you stupid nooobs .. you too Fanjita !! these companys make millions and millions from us . and your scared to rip them off.. have they given us the ppl anything for all the hard work we have to go throught just to pay them for there games and etc...
wake up and smell the the *****ing regurgitated games they keep making..
this is a wake up call.. demand inovative games. demand what your money is really! worth....
.... i'm done with this iste for now .....
Peace out ...... from ....... Toronto,Canada.
....inky.
the sad thing is that even if iso's were never used or ripped or ever existed in the beginning and only emu's were used sony would still be the butthole's they are and still block it. Sony should blame themselves as when the system came out there weren't that many great games released or made and what better way to use the psp and waste time then to play snes or genesis, and seeing as more great stuff is coming out via HB, nobody is going to want to give up their 1.5 or 2.0 psps.
I realised that if the gta is patched with 2.6 now will other past games 2.5 or below be patched with the current firmware? Doesn't matter to me as I have the games released when they came out but seeing as how Sony did this, what's stopping them from patching their other past games including Socom.
Just Sit back Relax Wait and See. thats all i have to say sony desirvs a great big smack in the face
....#28 i trust they are going to .... sad isnt it .!
ANOTHER FINE EXAMPLE OF HUMANS SCREWING OVER HUMANS FOR MATIERIAL OBJECTS !
Why is everyone, hiding her MAC Adress? I mean, nobody is gonna hack you through your PSP, or hack your PSP.
Or am I wrong?
