why the ***** you made a wi-fi off and on button for the psp?
Maybe a homebrew plugin can give you the ability to fly the airplane via PSP. That would be real immersion!
Ok, ok so it was a bad joke.
Sheesh!
Lol... wtf.. just put the wlan switch off! There's a greater hazard a laptop can interfere with the navigation rather than a measly PSP. Like, which network could a PSP even connect to at 10km above the ground??
(Unless you're playing adhoc with the guy on the other side of the plane, hahaha) :-D
I was planning on flying via JAL to Tokyo but now I might want to change airlines. WTF... Inflight entertainment usually sucks so I just want to be able to play my PSP dammit!!
what are they going to banned next p0rn???
japanese people these days :)
Wow, that's a bunch of crap!
May be that's for good. If such handhelds may cause interference with the plane's systems, then it's safer that way. You can tell: oh what da hell is that wlan switch for?.... yeah but you can't always control some kids behaviors, so I think it's for the best.
I did not expect this from Japan. They are much smarter than that. But then again, their smartness is probably what prompted this decision. Still, if it is only wi-fi capabity that hazards a risk, surely it can be switched off, just like it can be on a laptop.
I guess there will be a lot of bored gamers now in Japanese airlines.
Does anyone watch myth busters they already tried this one out with wi fi and cell phones on planes and only extremely old planes (like 10 years old) were affected by device signals in any measurable way. This retarded law will certainly retard my thoughts of flying to the land of the rising sun anytime soon, I wouldn't be able to survive a plane ride without my hands full of portable entertainment.
in the aviation world 10 years is not old. probably many of the world's airliners are 10-20 years old with some as old as 30.
but I know that my cell phone makes my tv and computer speakers pop and distorts the tv screen. I've also seen my phone muss up the instruments at the hospital.
I saw that Mythbusters, so I figure it's at least a little safe, but never the less, it doesn't seem that crazy to be extra catious 30,000 feet in the air.
