No Gravity logo - Image 1In case last month's E3 trailer for No Gravity has gotten you perked up, we'll be coming in again with a major update.

The RealTechVR team announced that after putting their game through a major graphics overhaul - they had a new 3D artists redo all the game's 3D assets - they'll be ready to release their 3D shooter port for the PSP by next month.

This isn't confirmed yet, however, and the team is further informing everybody that they will update this announcement within the next few weeks.

No Gravity is currently playable on PSP firmware 1.5. RealTechVR is hoping to make it playable on higher official firmwares. To this end, the team's apparently trying to sign a deal with Sony that will have the come in either UMD format, or as a signed/licensed EBOOT file.

On a related note, No Gravity's Windows DirectX and Mac OpenGL 2.0 ports are expected to have a High-def version coming out later on this year. That's the latest new snippet we've picked up for this much-anticipated homebrews - stop by again in case we pick up further updates. Or, if you're an interested newcomer, pick up the early game demo to try No Gravity out for yourself.

Kudos goes to Borg Queen X for tipping us off regarding this hot news!

so the homebrew game is going commercial ?

well it tries to ? to bad, for a homebrew game is was quit nice, but as a official psp release i,m not touching it.

They said it would stay free. I guess what they are trying to do is release it as a sort of "demo".

» Read the page before writing an article...

from the page: "No Gravity will be available for Sony PSP (for 1.5 firmware for the moment, but we are working to get a version to be compatible with official firmwares)."
They didn't mention UMD's, Eboot's or Sony. (But Eboot's seem more likely)

realtech will release No Gravity: The Plague Of Mind,
a new version of its 3D space shooter for Sony PSP (homebrew enabled),
this summer as free of charge.

I think it will be free...

 » yeah

I'd buy this even if it costed money. I've got to say it's a great game. Just a bit buggy, but still great.

I think they meant September 2007 as September 7th is less then a few weeks away.

Sounds like they're trying to sell it now.. I dont blame them.. but it certainly makes it a lot less interesting.

If they up the quality of the game (it's good now for the price) then I wouldn't mind paying for a version.

 » Maybe free for 1.5

Maybe they'll keep their current version free for 1.5 users and CFW users and try and have a UMD released for higher firmwares.

pretty sweet to see it come out as a umd. altho i didnt like the game that much.

 » the...game...

WONT be on the UMD. What they are trying to do is get it signed by Sony so it can run on official firmwares. (Like that matters now since every single firmware is hacked.)

 » sweet!

This game is still the homebrew with the best graphics! Can't wait to see the full version.

 » lol

the game isnt going commercial, if it comes on umd the game must be some dollars to get the costs of the umd.
But a signed eboot would be free and if sony isnt doing that they will release the game on their site.

 » Hmmm...

I believe that it would be interesting if SONY decided to create a signed EBOOT of this game for unhacked PSPs, although rather unlikely. Ah well, at any rate I will certainly be anticipating the release of this game.
