It seems that the Illuminati exploit doesn't work properly if your PSP is set to non-English settings. At a guess, it's something to do with unicode when displaying the profile name. // Anyway, if you are having problems, especially with the European Lumines, then try switching your PSP to 'English' settings. |

There *****s, now you cant be first
Yea Baby 8-)
Please read this, you will be excited. When you click this link, http://www.cashcrate.com/192904 you will sign up for a website that pays you 2 - 45$ (PER) to do surveys, sign up for trial offers, and test products.
Companies such as ebay pay cashcrate to have people try their offers, and when you complete an offer, cashcrate simply passes the money onto you. By spending an average of 3-4 hours a week on cascrate,
I have made 472$ in April, 412$ in May, and 271$ (SO FAR) in June. You get paid in real checks from "KINGSIDE MEDIA" every month that you earn 10 dollars or more. It may seem too good to be true,
but I assure you it IS true. Also, with their referral program, you can refer people by sending them your link (you get when you sign up) and for every buck they earn, you get 20 cents also! (Think how much money you can make if you have 100 people making five bucks a day)
You do not have to enter your credit card or social security number. Nothing Harmful can come from cashcrate. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE 18 OR OLDER, I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND REFERRING PEOPLE, AND I MAKE THIS MUCH MONEY A MONTH
JUST SPENDING A COUPLE MINUTES A DAY ON THE COMPUTER! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS.
Think it's a scam? Read this(from the website) "We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so.
Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!"
There are alot of websites like this, I have tried almost all of them and this really is the best, and legit one.In addition there is a new UK section opened with more then $200 worth of free offers!

Finally, The Homebrew Scene has risen again!
ETA on HEN and downgrader anyone?
RTFA
never
I want an ETA because THE ARTICLE DOESN'T SAY. Some people really need to deal with their issues before they caps all over others.
So should i buy a new psp now or wait for the slim?
That depends cause sony is going to make a un hackable firmware for the new psp but the new psp will have good features or if you want hombrew get a psp right now
DOUBT IT NOTHINGS "UNHACKABLE" :D
I'd wait for the slim... But be warned if you want homebrew for it you'll have to wait a....................................................................................long time(if ever). I doubt it'll be unhackable, I always thought that 3.50 was unhackable but noobz went and prooved me wrong.
If your a homebrew nutter buy a PSP now before the slim comes out, but if you dont mind just playing games made by proper companys wait for slim
Should there actually be a PSP "Lite", it will probably a) not come out until fall or winter b) come with a reworked motherboard that won't be downgradeable for a long time
Plus, it's not like they can make the unit that much smaller since it has to fit the UMD drive.
Of course, if you don't care about homebre or backups of (somebody else's) games, I'd say wait, since the new version (should it exist) will sport better features than the original.
You could have at least gave me credit for giving you a heads up about it...
I tried nine different places before i finally found multiple copies of it at Toys R Us for only $13. So if anyone still can't find it, take a look there.
I also found it at Toys R Us after looking for it everywhere else, is there an eta yet
there are some left in amazon .com check there
why don't all game companies just leave a random exploit in their games? They could make a small fortune on people buying their game instead of people downloading them online anyways.
Sony probably has the companies swear an oath to it or something, and if they do end up having an exploit involving their game, there's probably fines for the company.
I laugh at the fact that amazon changed their price for the game!
Yesterday, amazon.ca had the game for $15 canadian.
Now, it has it for $37.75!

I just bought six, one for me and 5 for profit. Roughly 20 dollars each, not bad at all. Especially for the prices they're going for already.
what version downgrader is it gonna be?
Alright, someone make me feel better, hah. I say if this downgrader comes out, it is going to ruin (not completely) but a bunch of decisions that game designers may have about the system.
So I want someone to prove me wrong with that comment above. Why do you think this downgrader coming out is a good thing? If you want a hackable PSP, get one that's a lower grade, anywhere. There are numorous places. That Noobs team just wants to be as well respected as Dark Alex so of course they're going to make a downgrader, and really they're just going to make sales a whole crap load worse.
When Metal Gear Ops came out, there were 13,000 seeders for MiniNova. ...Think about that, that's almost as high as a Naruto episode or South park, and that's just the Seeders. Dude, I don't even seed stuff, and I know there are other people out there that don't either, hah.
Then, on a certain PSP site, (Not going to advertise it here) there are over 150,000 people joined that's all about sharing games. (Which is weird because it's a great site but when I talk to people with custom firmware no one really knew about it) And then you have the people from here and other sites.
If this downgrader comes out, ***** for the PSP is going to turn really bad. I pray people update to the "unhackable" 4.00. If I brick mine or break mine, that's my fault and I will go find a new one. But man I wish this downgrader would not come out.
Kill yourself.
Wow Seven. That proves me wrong completely. Can someone intelligent answer me instead of a half retarded *****head?
This guy's got a point. I was thinking about this yesterday. But I'm sure the noobz team isn't doing this so they can be famous, they're doing it to help the idiots who upgraded to 3.10 or higher. But I'm sure Sony will find a way around this anyway. But yeah, great job on the Downgraded guys
I totally agree and it's enlightening to see someone on here with both a brain and a conscience. This is very bad news for the PSP. Think about this: combine the thousands you see there with the thousands of people buying up Lumines for sinister purposes (not everyone, but it's going to be a significant percentage). Now, the moment a downgrader releases, it's time to start obtaining torrent stats and put together conclusive information on the PSP piracy scene. Idiots on here like to say 'only the small minority do it', and some more conclusive stats (in addition to the stats you provide) will shut those people up.
In the end it's been Sony's downfall for making the PSP so versatile and allowing it to read the memory stick. With the DS, Nintendo constantly avoids the piracy problem by making their units closed and feature focused on games. Even today people need to purchase additional hardware that is illegal to obtain in a growing number of countries. Had piracy not hit the PSP so hard and early in it's like, then it might have competed better with game sales against the DS. No, it WOULD have.
Shame isn't it?
If someone else does something wrong then I shouldnt be worried that I do something wrong cause they would do it anyway.
That is why killing Hitler wouldn't have stopped world war 2 because someone exactly as escentric and carasmatic would have wanted to start a world with only the arian race as well.
Kids - pfft
... the only reason I bought my PSP was to play emulation / homebrew... I have 2 psp games that I NEVER play... (just maybe played RR for 2 weeks and GTA LCS for an hour!)
I can see how you think that piracy and stuff breaks the system, but still, theres not THAT MANY DECENT games for this thing... its very reminiscent of the N64 vs PSX war a while back.
Anyways, I'm glad the noobs will prolly eventually bring this downgrader out cos my mate bought a psp just for emulation / nes stuff! ... screw all this new crap!
I got my copy yesterday for 15.00 bucks now its all the way upto 128$ in amazon lol!
for $14.99 used. at gamestop.
and thats not nearly as many people that are actually buying games.if 1 million people buy a game and the developers make profit, why should they care if 15,000 people download it?especially considering a person could try the game out and then buy it,otherwise they might not have bought it,or a person might try a game from a specific developer and buy a different game from the same developer.piracy is hardly making a dent in the psp.if it did the psp wouldnt be here right now,and they wouldnt be planning a new psp.
your right about what you said.
15,000 out of a million may not sound like much.. but that's still 15,000 people sales gone. And right now we're not just talking about now, once this downgrader comes out, there is no need for anyone to buy a game, No One. "But not everyone knows about homebrew" you're right if you thought that, for now. But more and more will, and there will be nothing stopping them from pirating all of them. Think about it, how much will your 15,000 out of a million rise to if everyone can pirate?
I think that about 15k people probably pirate the game anyways without having CF or homebrew you forget that piracy is not just limited to download but happens more often just with the actual umd then by downloading although im not saying it doesnt happen alot with downloadin gas well. but just to let you know there are people like you and i out there who dont pirate... and a lot of them otherwise there would be no game industry. Same with movies.... if pirating was such a bad thing as to kill the industry it would have happend a long time ago.
any word yet on the japanese version of this game it keeps creating another save file and wont load the ones from the exploit!! if anyone can help with this please!!! other then that getting more excited for this thing to happen!!
I guess people never heard of demos !lol!
Please try to be patient you little *****s. Look, it takes long, hard work to make a downgrader. The security is different on the new firmwares too, however little, but it still takes a lot of work. Sure, we're used to it, but if you ask me people are acting like spoiled *****s and demanding it NOW NOW NOW! How hard is it to wait? Hell, maybe no one is working on it right now. Anyone stupid enough to upgrade deserves the wait anyway. You people should take a moment to thank all the people paving the way from the beginning to make this possible. And if you think I'm being a tard then why don't you try your hand at programming? It's much harder than you'd think. Just setting up the proper enviornment is hard (unless you have experience, then its just busywork.)
i got my lumines at blockbuster $13
i got my PSP at Elgiganten for $200 year 2006.
PS. I live in sweden and Elgiganten doesn't even exist in the US.
Here is my thought.
When this exploit came out Buncha money for Lumines
When a downgrader comes out more PSP's will be bough and more lumines games will be bought as well.
Homebrew, I believe is only 2% of all the PSPs in the world. And only a small percentage know about homebrew.
This downgrader won't hurt anything. It will just add money. And wow 15,000 out of 1,000,000. That is so small. And besides, the companies making the game just want your money, so as long as people buy thier games they don't care about piracy and all the other kinda crap that's happening.
How many games on the PSP do you think go beyond a million sales? And that 2% number must have come out of your ass, honestly. Where did you dream it up from. Did you know that PSP torrents comprise of 1% of torrent traffic? Think about that.
At least I back my numbers up:
http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/security/dmorrill/archives/bit-torrent-what-is-being-traded-in-june-2006-10359
the lumines game will probally end just like the unpatched GTA LCs costing up to The ps3 sales
zetsurin says ''With the DS, Nintendo constantly avoids the piracy problem by making their units closed and feature focused on games. Even today people need to purchase additional hardware that is illegal to obtain in a growing number of countries.''
Do you have any real idea about Piracy on the DS?
Nintendo have not made their units closed at all, even with the newly released DS Lites the firmware can still be completely flashed over with hacked firmware.
There are now new DS Slot 1 cards that take mini SD. You do not need anything else and they are not illegal.
In fact there have been more Slot 1 card releases than I can remember and there have been about 10 new ones in the past week.
Not only this you do not need to patch DS games to run them. All you need to do is drag and drop. You do not need to modify the firmware but some do it to add a recovery menu. The fact is, the DS has just as much a piracy problem as the Psp and is now just as easy or easier than it is on the DS.
Zetsurin said "Even today people need to purchase additional hardware that is illegal to obtain in a growing number of countries."
IF you had actually read what he wrote (and understood it) then you'd realize that he answered every piece of bull that you submitted in a single sentence.
PSP + normal memory sticks + game + unlock.
DS + "illegal" slot1/2 card + SD card + unlock.
slow down and read before you make yourself look like a retard.
wow i like how you flame him "me"... although you did not read his clearly.... "There are now new DS Slot 1 cards that take mini SD. You do not need anything else and they are not illegal. " i don't really know much about the DS, but for flaming someone for 'not reading the post' and you yourself not reading the post is pretty funny...
did any1 try to modify gta liberty city stories downgrade? since it's same kind of exploit
The authors of lumines are proly laughing all the way to the bank.
jin!!! the downgrader should be released no one should be left out. You dont hope the downgraders released becuz people will use it for piracy? All the people i know who have 3.10 and up all just want the homebrew. A small amount of people know what homebrew is and a smaller percentage know of emulators. NOOBZ good job hope you release the downgrader soon.
Anyone who agrees to Jins retarded comments is just as retarded as Jin. All they want is our money, they could care less about piracy. I think Noobz should release the downgrader so that we can all make Jin cry to his mommy. And an R4 slot card (DS Card) isnt illegal dumbass'es. And why are you so conserned about torrents then, huh Jin? Why would you check the MGS torrent.....maybe you wanted to downloa......i mean.......report it to the company? People like you make me want to kill myself because you think that your *****ing opinion is always freakin correct. If no one on this article agrees with me (which i doubt) they can go ***** themselfs just like Jin. But most people on this article love homebrew (foreshot, Lii)
I forget, where's your point at again?
oh he's probably one of those guys (i downgraded at 3.03 so no one above deserves to) If noobz doesn't release the downgrader all their hard work would have been for naught.
Name 10 REAL people you know who pirate on this website.
So, Zetsurin, it seems from your posts that you are a torrent user, and presumably have pirated UMDs yourself.
Is there any way that you can claim that your piracy is in some way my fault?
By opening up homebrew on PSPs, we're giving freedom to the end user. They can choose how they use that freedom. If they care about the platform, then I hope they'll use the freedom responsibly, and run only legitimate homebrew, or at worst, backups of their own UMDs.
Those that choose to pirate have themselves to blame if the platform suffers. If you choose to shoot someone, it is not the fault of the gun manufacturer. Modern society seems to place very little stock in individual responsibility - all we seem to hear about is "I want my rights", and not "I want to have the responsibility that goes with them". In my opinion, that's what's wrong with the world today - a refusal to take responsibility for our individual actions.
Downgraders are tools. We provide them because we believe in individual freedom and have faith that human beings can be responsible. We do not like being treated like children by those with whom we spend our money.
So it's your choice what you do with it. And this isn't aimed personally just at Zetsurin - everyone who uses the downgrader for bad should look at themselves critically, and accept that THEY ARE HURTING THE INDUSTRY. THEM, THEMSELVES, BY THEIR OWN CHOICES AND ACTIONS.
And to those who are stockpiling copies of Lumines, in order to profiteer from the shortage of stocks - shame on you. It disgusts me that we give our time and effort so that everyone can freely enjoy homebrew, just to see a greedy few attempting to screw others over. It's hardly community-spirited, now, is it?
Oh dude enough. The world is not perfect, how many % of people do you think is going to downgrade JUST for homebrew? If you even think about hitting the double digits I will laugh because everyone else knows it. You can have faith in a lot of things, ...but the PSP homebrew community is not something you can say, "Everyone will do good!" And as the sales go down from piracy (oh btw, the answer to your question is.... yes. When you download the game without owning it, that's pirating, I don't know how you misunderstood that, or maybe I did?) will you still be thinking, "I'm glad I made this downgrader." lol.
You can talk about guns, freewill, and responsibility all you like, but maybe you should take a step back and think for a second, 150,000 members on One single PSP site (not this) don't exactly have halos on their heads.
I'll give you another example why hacked firmware spells doom.
Last year, when Socom Fireteam Bravo 2 came out. It required fw 2.80 to play ONLINE. Devhook could not emulate 2.80 yet. All was good, over 16000+ users online and not a single hacker in sight. 3 months later, Darkalex releases Devhook+2.80 support. The next day, there were ppl running around with infinite health, unlimited ammo, teleportation, shooting thorough walls, etc. In just 3 short months FTB2 was utterly and completely ruined for thousands and thousands of people who bought the game legally. It's really really really f'kn fustrating. All it takes in one guy and the whole game is ruined.
Well, now-a-days, hardly anybody plays FTB2. Too many hackers.
A new Socom game is going to come out for the psp. I'm not even gonna bother buying it bc it will eventually be ruined and the worst part is, you crackers don't even acknowledge your contribution.
lmao i feel like pirating a lumines game in order to try the exploit O.o ( making a statement )
@Jin, since you're feeling argumentative...
So you admit to not having the moral backbone to avoid piracy. And yet you claim it is my fault? Do you not have the any control over your own actions?
There's presumably no-one stopping you from shoplifting when you're out at the mall. You've got pockets, hands, and shop staff that can't keep an eye on you at all times. So do you steal their stuff?
In no way do I expect everyone to do good. But I do feel that they deserve to have a choice. You can't be nannied by the industry and the state forever. At some point, you have to reclaim your independence and accept some responsibility for your life's actions.
I wholeheartedly believe that the benefits to the group of people who want to use legitimate homebrew to enrich their experiences, and who are not so morally lazy that they hide behind other people's work, far outweigh the actions of the selfish pirates.
I notice that the bulk of people who argue against downgraders already have homebrew-capable PSPs. What makes you so special that you deserve homebrew, but no-one else does? By your own admission, a lot of you pirate software. In which case, there are a lot of new potential homebrewers who deserve it a lot more than you do. Ditch the elitist crap.
so if i go buy luminess i just have to wait for the downgrader
Well said Fanjita, I agree completely with everything that you said.
Don't let a few idiots who think not of the large picture drag you down - keep doing what you are doing, as MOST of us appreciate it.
You kick ass Fanjita!
P.S. - I bought a Lumines UMD yesterday for $12.99 at my local GameStop!
I Bought mine at the same price Mail.Man!! :D:D:D
Very well put Fanjita. Don't let these fools tell you otherwise.
I agree completely with Bob (Who posted previously), in that I purchased my PSP with an old game GripShift. I played it for a while, but recently it has sat collecting dust on the shelf in my room.
I have a 3.03 PSP that could be downgraded, but I couldn't find an unpatched Grand Theft Auto: LCS UMD. I have sat with my PSP for well over a year and not bought a single UMD game for it, and yet I use my PSP very frequently. I listen to Music, watch Videos, and share Photos. I will not, nor have ever (other than GripShift) purchased a UMD game for my PSP because I don't like the selection that the platform has to offer. Furthermore, I do not intend to pirate any games for the PSP because again, I don't like the selection that the platform has to offer.
In no way does any downgrader account for piracy. It is completely up to the user as to what they do with the capabilities of lower or custom firmwares. So to anyone who blames dedicated coders for their own or other's piracy habits -
Go to hell.
You kick ass N00bz!
